everything felt normal for june after that. her and niall would either sleep in the same bed, or they'd wake up first thing in the morning and see each other. june always looked forward to seeing the blonde, and she hoped he was excited to see her too, though, judging on his smile that he had whenever he laid eyes on her, she figured he did indeed feel that way.

niall stepped into june's room, who was intensely typing on her computer.

"hey." he said, making her look up at him with a smile.

"hello there." she responded rightly, standing up from her desk as he closed the door. she immediately cupped his cheeks and pressed a kiss to his lips. "how was your night?"

niall returned her kiss gladly. "it was weird without you there. you've slept in my room for like... a week."

"i know, alex wanted to spend a few hours with me, and then he watched me leave, so it would've looked weird if i went into your room." june explainer, shrugging. niall sighed, setting his hands on her waist.

"how long do we have to keep this from your brother? i don't know how much longer i can keep myself from showing you off." niall mumbled, looking down at her.

"just until we figure everything out, and everything is official, i guess. but hey, why don't we go to dinner tonight? we can say we're... running errands or something." june suggested.

"sure, that sounds like a plan. at... seven?" he asked curiously, and she nodded.

"great."

time ticked by, and then june got ready. she even made reservations, her prayers answered when the restaurant said they had spots open for the night she called. she scheduled a reservation at seven thirty.

the brunette went into her room, chewing on her lip as she stared in the mirror, deciding what to put on makeup wise. she went light, deciding that was always the better option. she put on a white dress, casual enough to make it look like she was simply running errands and nothing else, spinning around and laughing to herself when the ends spun too. she curled her hair, burning herself frequently. it was all worth it in the end when she twirled her hair around her pointer finger, smiling with herself.

she went down the stairs, thankfully not seeing alex on the way out, though ani was there, who knew exactly what their intentions were.

"i'm so excited for you two!" she whisper yelled, not wanting to raise attention to alex, who was in his bedroom. june nodded, a huge smile on her face. niall came down the stairs, and both of them stared at each other for a few seconds. niall looked fantastic. he had a button up black shirt, with a red tie, and black dress pants. she went over to him, cupping his cheeks.

"you look amazing." june said sincerely, going up on her tippy toes to press a kiss to his cheek. he smiled at her.

"so do you." he replied, his voice hazy as if she put him in a trance by her looks. his tone of voice made her blush a bit.

"alright lovebirds, you go." ani cut into their moment. june laughed, nodding. she went to hug ani.

"i'll see you later." she whispered. "alex, niall and i are running errands!" she called. "bye, i love you!" she followed up.

the two of them left. jake took the car when he left, so they didn't currently have a way of transportation other than walking, which both of them were fine with. it was better than paying money to an uber or taxi to get them somewhere where they could walk in seven minutes.

the duo walked in silence at first, a comfortable one. the sun was on the brim of the sky, displaying a pink and orange sunset.

"it's so pretty, isn't it?"

"what?" niall questioned, not really knowing what the hell she was talking about. he's lived here for years, and was used to the same sunset everyday of every summer, late spring, and early fall.

"the sunset." june responded, stopping to look at it for a second, before beginning to walk.

"you're right, it's beautiful." niall nodded slowly. he went to take her hand, which she accepted happily and intertwined their fingers.

they said no more, continuing to walk before finally making it to the restaurant, niall holding open the door for her.

"what a gentleman." june teased before walking through, the smell of food distracting her from everything as she walked. "that smells so good, holy shit." she muttered, earning a glare from a mother with her child. she quickly looked away from them and back at niall, grabbing his hand. "come on." she smiled at him. a man led them to their table, and they sat down across from one another.

"it's so nice in here." niall looked around a bit, and so did june. the color of the restaurant was mostly beige and black, black curtains neatly put up on the windows, the walls painted beige. there was fake diamonds on the chair surface where their backs rested, and it felt cool to june.

"i know, woah." she said with a laugh.

"hello, my name is jason, and i'll be your waiter for today."

the two of them talked for awhile, about themselves, mostly niall wanting to know about june's past and what she was like before she came here and met niall. she was happy to tell him, about her father, about herself. she was a pretty open book, though she left some possibly hefty details out of her past stories.

they ate, and it ended up with them walking out hand in hand. they walked down the street, june almost falling over from an unexpected ridge in the sidewalk. they kept walking until the two made it back to the house. they slept in niall's room tonight (only sleeping of course, making out if the farthest they've went. 'taking it slow.' june would always say before it got more heated, and niall would agree, always.) niall held her as they both fell into sleep, talking about nonsense randomly and keeping each other awake for hours before finally sleeping.

june couldn't be happier about where they were now.
