As I hear a door shut, I wake up the next morning and find a vacant spot next to me on the bed. Where did Tomoki go? I wonder as I get up and start getting dressed for school. As I finish getting dressed, I notice a note on my desk. I pick up the note and start reading. Scribbled our in pencil it read, "Sorry about this, I just thought it would be best for me to leave. Especially after what happened last night. I don't want you to get hurt because of me. That's why I left. Also, I suggest you stop talking to me. Well, bye and thanks for being my friend.
-Tomoki"
What the hell is this!? I need to talk to Tomoki! I snatch my bag off the floor and bolt out the door, slamming the door shut behind me. As I run down the street, my feet pounding against the pavement, I frantically scan the area, hoping to find just a glimpse of Tomoki. I look in the alleyways and behind a lot of buildings. I couldn't find him and eventually gave up, heading off to school. I enter the school gates and head into class. I take my seat and put my bag in the empty desk next to me, Tomoki's desk.
"Nice if you to finally join us Mr. Akazawa." Mr. Nanoko says, starting to head in my direction with a sheet of paper. He gives me a detention slip and starts heading back.
"What!? I'm going to detention!? For what!? I was just tardy!" I say jumping out of my desk and slamming my hands on top of the desk.
"Yes..." Mr. Nanoko starts saying without turning around. "but this is your fifth tardy. You should be grateful. I only gave you one day of detention. If anything you should be getting Saturday detention."
"Oh my god. Whatever."? I sit back down and look out the window, hoping to see Tomoki enter the gates. Time passed by quickly and soon it was time for lunch. I get up and head to the roof expecting to see Tomoki up there. When I get there though, all I see is Daichi, sitting in the middle of a deserted rooftop, waiting for me. I sneak up behind him and tickle him. He shrieks and turns around to see who it was.
"Really dude?" Daichi says.
I sit down next to him and say, "Yes really." We both laugh. Once we stop, I bring my knees up to my chest and put my head down.
"So, how's it going with Tomoki?" Daichi asks.
".......I think we are no longer friends...." I say and hand him the note. He reads it quietly.
Once he finishes he gives it back and says, "Well, that doesn't mean that y'all aren't friends it just means that he might be confused? Sorry you know I'm not really good with this type of things."
"It's ok. My question is..." my eyes start to fill with tears that I can't stop from flowing. "Why did I fall for another dude when I knew it wouldn't work out? Why do I always torture myself with this?"
Daichi grabs me and puts him arms around me. "It's not your fault. You can't control your feelings."As I hear Mikazuki whimpering, I can't help but start to regret my decisions. I didn't really have any other choice. I couldn't hear what they said but it must've been sad. I look at my phone and realize that lunch is almost over. I gotta get going.
I go over to the railing of the roof and climb over to the other side. I jump into a tree and climb down, heading towards the gates to leave. I'm sorry Mikazuki. I really am. Please forgive me.
