My life has just been flipped upside down. I just found out that my parents are the owners of a secret agency three days ago; I'm now suppose to help them on the project they are working on called Project 59. I have to find people that work for this demonic agency called Death and get info out of them; I'm suppose to eliminate them since there is no other way, afterwards.
I look at the clock and realize that it's already 8:30. I snatch my breakfast off the counter, which is a piece of toast, and bolt out the door. As I zoom off to school, I run into a boy, who looks to be about my age, wearing our school uniform. His hair is black and the length of his face. It's parted to one side so that it's covering up one of his eyes. He's also wearing a decorative mask. The mask has a black background with what looks like a smile that is sewn together. I like his taste of style I think as I look down at my phone to check the time. Damn it, it's already 8:40 I need to get to class. I hurry off without looking back and enter the gates.
As I walk into class,I take a seat at my desk , in the far corner of the room by the window, and put my bag in the empty seat next to me. The teacher looks at me an gives me a scowl. I bow my head in an apologetic manner, then he gets back to teaching. A little while later, the door opens up. The principal strolls in, and although she was wearing high heels her footsteps were quieter than a mouse, with the kid I ran into on my way to school. She whispers something to the teacher and turns toward the door to leave, leaving the boy in the classroom.
"This is Tomoki Akihiro. He is a transfer student from America. Please treat him with respect as he introduces himself." Me. Nanone explains. The new student, whose name is apparently Tomoki, turns towards the class and starts speaking without removing the mask from his face.
"As the teacher said," he starts saying in a low whisper, his voice surprisingly sweet and soft. "my name is Tomoki Akihiro, but please call me Tomoki. I just transferred from America because of reasons I would rather not say. That is pretty much all I have to say so, thank you for your time." He finishes and bows showing he's very thankful and polite.
"Thank you Mr. Akihiro. You can go take a seat next to Mikazuki over there." Mr. Nanone says pointing to the empty desk next to me. He walks over, I move my bag and he takes a seat glancing a couple of times at me.
"Hey I'm Mikazuki Akazawa, nice to meet you." I say holding out my hand for him to shake, "I believe we will become great friends l." He doesn't shake my hand, instead he just sits there looking at me so I take my hand away. Being curious I ask, "Why are you wearing that mask?"
He sits there for a moment debating whether or not he should tell me, after a few minutes he finally speaks, "I'd rather not talk about it, maybe some other time."
"Ok you don't have to if you don't want to."
"Mr. Akihiro and Mr. Akazawa, eyes forward and mouths closed. You have to pay attention in my class if you want to pass the exams. I'd rather not see you both again next." Mr. Nanone says turning back towards the board. The other kids start laughing and then the bell rings for lunch.
"Hey how bout you eat lunch with me today?" I say turning to an empty desk. Where did he go? I look around and realize that he's not in here anymore, so I leave the room and head up to the rooftop. I take out my phone, put my earphones in, and stare off into the distance. It's not long after that that I start to feel like there's someone behind me. I turn around and see my best friend Daichi Atsuji. We've known each other since we were little kids and we have never been in separate classes until we entered the 9th grade. I was put into class 3, 3-C, and he was put into class 4, 4-C.
He walks over to me and sits down, "What are you doing up here all alone?"
"This is what I do everyday so what's different today?" I ask answering his question with a question.
"Well I don't know. Maybe because there's a new kid here. I thought you would be talking to him today."
"I don't know where he is so I'm not gonna go look for him. Besides, he'll be in class after lunch so I'll talk to him then."
"Ok first of all I'm surprised your actually going to class and secondly, what do you think about him?" Daichi asks with a grin on his face. He's also the only person who knows I'm gay.
"I don't know yet. I mean we haven't really talked but he seems really cool so I don't know." I reply and look up towards the sky.
"Well, he's up there ok the other rooftop." I turn to look at where he's pointing and sure enough there's a boy up there who looks exactly like Tomoki. I jump up and bolt off the roof, heading for the other rooftop.
"Hm you don't know how you feel yet? Well I sure know how you feel. You've never acted this way before. You better tell him how you feel soon before a girl takes him." Daichi says grinning.
I get there and see him sitting down reading a book. I walk over to him and sit down next to him. "Hey" I say hoping he'll answer me back.
"Hi" he replies not wanting to look up from his book.
"What book are you reading?" He flips it over to the rolling his eye, obviously annoyed that he had to stop reading. "Murderer of Death?" He nods his head and continues reading. "I read that book before, it was more of a horror book of course but it was still really good. So, do you like horror books?" He nods his head again and then continues reading.
