Chapter 11
Looking back on their journey, you wouldn't believe the challenges on overly big and sometimes dysfunctional family have been through. Rom losing parents to losing a sister to gain her back and another brother to almost losing him, it's been an emotional rollercoaster that may have had its major dips and turn's but had its highs.
It was these events that shaped the personalities and views of the people within this family, from old to youngest. The story we have followed over time have had an event filled time and there are some loose ends that should be cleaned up before we hit the finale ending.
Tris never did speak to Nikki again, she knew the memories would always be with her, but it was unfortunately a friendship that wasn't to last. Everyone has these types of relationships that aren't to remain and even though it's hard to let them go, you still hold the memories wherever you go and in the words of my mum "they never leave your heart".
Nathan and his friends did receive punishment for their actions as even though the tables turned, it doesn't justify the act of bullying and assault. Each boy was removed from any extra curriculum actives such as sport teams, each a month of community service and three weeks of detention. Remembering my friends, anger and hatred is no excuse for bullying as you never know how close to the end someone is, until you push them off with no safety net and the bottom.
Tris received a letter in the post a chapter, and we never elaborated what was in it. The letter contained the request for the interview about her biological dad with the police which occurred in the next chapter.
But I think there is on loose end that I can't leave undone. Do Tris and Charlie actually ever get together in the end?
Well my beautiful readers, that for you to decide, even if this story had its very dramatic points, it's not a fairy tale and not everyone ends up with a person to love them in a romantic sense. Though I guess what you read next will make you forgive me for never letting them have that kiss to find out.
Time Skip to the End of the Year...
The music in the hall blared loudly and the kids moved to the beat. The end of year dance was always the best with the students finishing exams and getting ready to move to the next level of school or into the real world.
Nathan stood off to the side, drink in hand as he talked to Charlie about pointless things and memories from the year that was now almost finished. The boys became quite close over the year and let me tell you it was one of those friendships that is adorable and "manly" at the same time.
The door opened and in walked in a new wave of students, Tris included, who for a girl who hates dressing up, cleaned up quit nicely. A simple white lace two-piece outfit with her flannel ties around her waist, blonde hair up in a pony tail.
She had her arm crossed over with another girl, her name was Chase and they had met in the middle of the year when Chase moved to the school. They were like twins but had the opposites meaning Chase was handy with a makeup brush.
The girls crossed over to the boys to greet them with a big toothy smile.
"You boys brushed up nicely" Chase commented after giving them both a once over
"Not too bad yourself Chay" Nathan replies sneaking an arm around her waist, oh yeah did I mention they've been dating for about a month?
Chase was wearing a simple black knee-high dress with white lace detailing on the top.
The two whisked away to the dance floor and quickly were out of sight, stupid love-birds everywhere and most likely leaving the other two alone for a reason.
"You—Uh look lovely" Charlie stumbles out
"Thank you, Charles you look quite hansom" Tris jokes back trying to lighten the mood
They soon fell into a conversation and somehow ended up on the dance floor moving slower as the song switched to let the couples have a stereotypical slow dance. The two sixteen-year olds just moved in a circle not going for anything extravagant. Tris lifted her head slightly to smile at Charlie for a moment, when the quite atmosphere is broken by a loud shout
"For god sakes KISS HER ALREADY!" Chase called catching attention from others "What? Never seen a friend trying to get two people together? Back to your lives peasants!" yeah she was a special one
The pair blushed and turned away, not really wanting to face the staring eyes of their peers to see if one would actually make the move this time. You see the whole school have come in and begone spectators to the waiting game of their relationship as everyone agrees they need to shut up and date already, but that's just them. I'm pretty sure the teachers even think they should be together, hell the Queen of England would probably be using he royal powers right now to make them finally kiss, I mean it's been basically two books, you think they would get the hint by now.
Staring at each other once again, everyone discreetly watching hoping today was finally the day, the day these two stubborn to god people would realise they would be a cute couple, even though her brothers protective they were even rooting for this to happen, like come on its great teasing material.
They both lean a little loser, to the point their noses are less than a centimetre apart, she lets out a small giggle when their foreheads bump slightly and they readjust to try again... he leans a little more forward and
The End.
I cannot believe this book is finished. The little series is now over and I serious applaud you if you got this far to be honest!
But in reality, as much as I would love to keep this going forever, all good things must end at one point (except One Direction they can stay forever) and it was time for this book to have its finale chapter.
If you actually want to continue reading my work, I have published my next project "RoomService" and I would love it if you guys check it out and maybe it can do even better then these books.
Thank you all so much for the love and encouragement for these two books in the past year and bit, it's been an incredible journey and one I will always carry with me.
I love you all so much and hope to see you all enjoying my other books in he future as well as my new one as I could never have asked for a better reader group!
All the Love for the finale time on this book
