**** I actually have no idea where I'm going with this book ok, so if you have any ideas. You can share and I'd most likely incorporate them.***
-Louis

My mum wanted to talk with me today. So I told her she could stop by my apartment. I haven't seen her in awhile. She came by around 3, I wasn't doing anything so she wasn't interrupting much. I'd like to be with Ashley, but I don't want to seem too clingy, I like her a lot, and I think she feels the same way. I think if we start something neither of us want to be the others rebound, we want it to be real and meaningful. I know she's still fighting for Jake and I feel terrible for hoping it doesn't work out. She could be my future and well if Jake takes her back, she won't be. I've told little about her to my mum.

The doorbell went off at 3:15ish, I got off the couch already knowing who it was.

Once I opened the door my mum came into view, I opened the door for her. She wrapped her arms around me once she stepped inside. It took me a second, but I soon squeezed her into a hug, too. I lead her to the couch, she sat on the couch opposite of me.

"Do you want anything to drink," I asked her, giving her a warm smile.

"I've actually been craving some tea, if it's not too much of a problem," she says.

"No problem at all," I respond smiling.

I get up from the couch and head into the kitchen. I put water in the pot and set it on the stove. I take out a tea bag and set it on the counter. In a matter of minutes the water is ready. I get up once again and head into the kitchen. I pour the water into a mug and put in the tea bag. I grab some milk from the fridge and pour a tiny bit in. I stir it around until it turns a creamy brown color. I grab a napkin and carefully bring it into the living room and set it on the table.

"Thank you," she says smiling.

"You're welcome, ma," I reply returning the smile.

She takes a sip before speaking, "so tell me about this girl. You seem to like her a lot, not going to lie I was never crazy about your ex, but whatever made you happy. I didn't want to intervene, but I see now I really should've. Mothers know best, you know," she starts looking up at me.

"Yeah, but it's okay, I can take the heartbreak. I think it made me realize what I really want, maybe I needed that eye opener," I tell her.

"Okay, tell me about this other girl, I want to hear all the details," she says raising an eyebrow.

"Mom, she's so perfect and she makes me happy. Her name is Ashley, we met at the bar. She came after her wedding," I start, already knowing I'm going to have to clarify.

"After her wedding," my mom asks confused.

"Well her fiancé's dead wife came in and it was over," I explain, not making much sense.

"His dead wife, Louis, you're not making sense," she says giggling.

My Mom's laugh, is probably one of my favorite things in the world.

"Okay, they thought she was dead, but she's not," I tell her.

"Is she still trying to win her husband back," she asks me.

"I'm assuming she is, is it bad I hope it doesn't work out," I ask.

"You want her, what you're feeling is normal," she says, making me feel better.

"I know, I just want her to be happy. And if it's not with me, so be it," I sadly say.

"The way you make it sound, sounds like she feels the same way. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I just don't want you to do something you'll regret," she says.

"I won't screw this up, I promise, I'm better now," I tell her meaning it, I am better now, at least I hope.

"I believe you, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, like I should've been. But you need to understand that it was hard for me and what I was going through," she tells me.

"I know ma, I understand, but it's in the past," I say looking up at her.

"I know, honey, you are so strong," she responds smiling.

I'm happy to be having this conversation with her, that we are on good terms. We've both been through a lot, and I will always love my mum no matter what.

"We were all so worried about you, but you got it together, and I'm so proud," she says smiling.

"I know, I didn't mean to worry you and I'm sorry," I sadly say.

"It's okay, baby," she says giving me a small smile.

We've been talking for a few hours it's dark out now, and my stomach is growling.

"Ma, are you hungry, I could make us some dinner," I ask.

"Dinner doesn't sound too bad," she says nodding her head.

I walk into the kitchen browsing through the cabinets, "what do you want," I ask her.

"Whatever is fine with me," she answers standing up as well.

"I've got pasta, some leftover chicken, and soup," I tell her.

She looks through the cabinets with me, she pulls out some ingredients and sets them on the counter.

She gets out a pan and a pot, "I got this, honey," she tells.

I pour myself a glass of water and sit at the table, I've missed my mom's cooking, she's always been an amazing cook. She knows exactly what she's doing it's pretty impressive. She has a way with cooking that I'll never understand.

In about 20 minutes, a steaming plate of chicken is placed onto the table.

"Mom, you never fail to amaze me," I gush hugging her and giving her a soft kiss on the forehead.

She grabs the bottle of wine off the counter and grabs a glass.

We make small talk while eating dinner, it's nice. She stays for coffee and dessert and leaves around 10.

I thank her for coming, she leaves me with a kiss and a hug after I walk her to her car.

I thank her for coming and return into my apartment after the car is out of sight.

****** I'm sorry I haven't updated in like two months, I've been extremely busy with school mostly. Once summer starts I'll probably be able to update more frequently. Happy Mother's Day!!****
