******School is honestly right around the corner and I'm not ready.*****

I decided to visit the hospital early today, I'm also getting ready to go back to work. I should be returning next week, I think it'll be good for me. I kinda miss it to be honest. It'll keep me busy.

I did my usual morning routine before stepping out the door.

I walked silently to my car and stepped in. I put the directions into the gps and pulled out of the driveway.

There wasn't much traffic on the highway. I hummed to the radio as I drove. In around 20 minutes I arrived to the hospital. It seemed more quiet than usual.

I walked over to the elevator and made my way to Louis' floor. I walked down the long hallways until I reached his room. I knocked on the door twice before I heard footsteps and it was opened.

"Hi," I greeted as Jay motioned me inside. My eyes fell on Louis once I entered the room

"Anything," I ask hopefully.

"Not yet," she sadly responds.

"There's still so much time, it just happened," I say.

"I know, I'm just so worried, what if he doesn't wake up," Jay responds sadly.

"I should've been a better mother to him, he deserved so much better. And I treated him like crap," she admits sitting down next to him.

"If he wakes up, I'm going to be better, I promise," she says tears running down her face.

I think of when I accidentally opened up his notes when putting my number into his phone, she seems so sweet could she have honestly been so bad to him.

I wrap my arms around her, "don't beat yourself up about it, none of this is your fault," I say lifting her chin up.

"I can't help, but feel guilty, if I was there for him, things would be better. But I wasn't, I failed as a mother. I appreciate your words, but I know what I am," she pauses sniffling.

"When he wakes up, you can make things better with him, okay," I say trying to lift the spirits.

"I will, I've just been so caught up in my own problems..." she trails off.

"What about his other siblings, he told me he's got quite a few more, I'm not trying to intrude on your personal life. I'm just curious," I ask.

"They've visited a few times, usually at night. They are pretty busy during the day, but they've come," she tells me.

"Oh," I simply responded.

"I have to use the bathroom, I'll be back," Jay says, getting up.

I take her spot next to Louis. I grab his hand in mine, "Louis please, I miss you," I beg my throat hurting.

I lean in and place a small kiss on his lips, I know damn well this isn't a fairytale and the odds of my kiss doing anything are slim to none. But maybe just maybe, it would do something.

Once I removed my lips from his, he started to mumble, slightly moving in the bed. I brushed some hair away from his face. He looked so calm yet so broken.

"Louis, please," I tried once again my voice cracking.

The door opens startling me at first, Jay walks in sitting on the other side of him.

"Anything," she asks hopelessly.

I shake my head sadly, my lips drawing into a thin line.

"I wish I could've done something," she admits her voice cracking.
