***** I'm really sorry I haven't written in like forever, I've been vvv busy and have mad writers block***
I've been thinking about Louis a lot lately, I don't want to lead him on, especially because my case with Jake isn't sealed yet. He told me he'd get back to me when he was sure about his answer, but I'm not sure how much longer I'm willing to wait. It seems pathetic since the odds aren't in my favor. I can't help, but hate Jennifer. It wasn't her fault, but she destroyed my future. Wishing death on someone is horrible. I feel bad about it, but I can't help it.
My phone starts to buzz, I check the caller ID, Jake, speak of the devil. I pick it up.
"Hello," I say confused.
"Can we meet up," he simply responds.
"Where," I ask him sitting down on my bed.
"Our usual spot," he answers.
"When," I question.
"Now," he answers sounding unsure about his answer.
"Okay, I'll see you there," I say hanging up the phone.
"I love you," I hear him say before the line disconnects.
I stare at my phone, "I love you, too," I whisper to myself.
I hop down the stairs and slip my shoes on, I grab my car keys and purse and make my way out of the door.
I step into the car and turn it on. It's not long until I reach the cafe. I know he's probably figured out who he wants to be with and it's probably not me. My heart drops at the thought. I have to mentally prepare myself to lose him, it's going to be hard, but I'll survive.
I grab my bag and exit the car. I lock it before climbing the stairs. I enter the small content cafe. I scan the room to see if Jake is here, but I don't see him. I make my way over to the table we sat at last time. I scan over the menu, maybe I'll switch it up.
I settle on a vanilla bean Frappuccino and a blueberry muffin. I low-key wanted a brownie, but I knew that would kill my aching stomach. I think that I'm just nervous.
Where could Jake possibly be, I decide I'll call him. I press on his contact, it rings and rings, but he doesn't answer. I start to worry, maybe there's just traffic.
The cafe is pretty quiet today so the barista comes over to my table.
"Hi Chris," I greet him.
He flashes me a smile and sits down across from me.
"Are you being stood up," he questions surprised.
"I don't know, Jake asked me to meet him here. But I don't know where he is," I say sadly.
"That's not like him," Chris says, his eyes trailing out the window.
"I know it's not, I'm just so confused," I tell him, my eyes glued to the table.
"Hey, look at me, everything will work out, I promise you," he says making me draw my eyes back up to him.
"What about your love life, Chris," I ask him.
He rubs his chin, thinking, "there's one girl I got my eyes on, but I don't know how she feels," he says sadly. Chris is a cutie, I don't know why any girl wouldn't fall head over heels for him.
"You're a hard person not to like, I'm sure she feels the same way," I tell him.
"I hope you're right," he replies.
"I always admired you and Jake, you guys were regulars here, and then I heard you guys were getting married. What better news could there have been? If Jake can't see what's right in front of him, then that's his problem."
