changes part 2

chapter four

Pony was starting to warm up to his oldest brother bobby. And bobby was gettin a lot better at his signing. The two were becoming almost inseparable.  Bobby would take pony to school, and then try to look for a job. At 1.45 he would wait out front of pony's school to pick him up. Unless soda was taking him for the weekend.

At dinner that night, bobby was in an extremely good mood. "Whats git you so happy" darry asked. "Well little brother i got a call today about a job" bobby said with enthusiasm. "Thats great news, wheres the job?" Darry asked. "Houston" bobby replied. Pony was now staring at both his brothers. Whenever they didn't use their hands to talk, he felt a bit left out.

"Bobby got a job in houston" darry signed. "But thats so far away" pony signed. He got up and ran to his bedroom. Pony hated it when people he got attatched to went away. Bobby followed him to his room. He pushed open the door and pulled the desk chair over to the bed. He got pony to look at him.

"Listen baby" bobby started to sign. "I've tried getting a job here buddy, but theres nothing going right now. I got a friend in texas who's ask me to help run cattle". "The pay is real good too" bobby signed. "When will you leave" pony signed. "Well i'm going there for the weekend to check it out" bobby signed back.

Bobby hugged the younger boy. He tucked pony in to bed and kissed him goodnight. Darry came in and also gave pony a kiss goodnight.

"Darry, i wanna tell pony the truth, he deserves to know who i really am to him" bobby gad made up his mind. It was about time pony new bobby's secret. "I don't know bobby, this could go either way. He's been traumatised enough these past 12 months" darry tried to reason. "Yeah i know, but he's my son darry and with mom and dad gone, i think maybe he needs me to be his dad, not his big brother". "Ok, but at least let soda know whats going on" darry said still unsure.
