changes part 2

chapter two

Every morning was a struggle with ponyboy. Ever since soda and steve got an apartment together (no slash) darry has been pony's only care giver. Darry waited for pony to be fully alert before signing to him. "Hey little buddy, you know what day it is?" Darry signed. Pony nodded. "I go to sodapops tonight" pony signed with a big grin on his face.

Bobby was reading the morning paper when pony entered the kitchen. He looked over at pony who just sat down. Bobby didn't k ow how to sign, so he just gave pony a wave and a smile. Pony took out his notebook are you really my big brother? Pony passed bobby his book. Yep, sure thing kiddo, i use to change your butt when you were just a baby. Pony blushed reading this.

"Is soda picking me up from school or here?" Pony signed to darry. "I'll give him a call" darry signed back. It was 7.30am wich meant soda would be getting ready to open up the dx. Darry dialed the number. "Dx gas and repairs, sodapop speaking" "oh hey soda, just calling to see where your picking pony up from today?" Darry asked. "Oh sorry dar but i am going to be so flat out tonight, can you tell pony i'll pick him up tomorrow" soda replied.

"Sure thing buddy, but he aint gonna be too happy about it. You know he looks forward to spending time with you" darry tried to reason. "I'll take him to the zoo or somethin, and make it up to him" soda promised.

"Sorry kiddo, soda said it'll have to wait til tomorrow. I'll make sure the school knows to put you on the bus today" darry signed.
"Whats wrong?" Bobby asked darry, seeing the sad look on his baby brothers face. "Soda can't pick pony up til tomorrow" darry explained. "How about i pick him up" bobby suggested.

"Ok but you better come with us now so you know where to go. Also i'll need you to pick me after you pick up pony" darry agreed "make sure your on time for pony, he finishes at 2.00 pm" darry was real firm about pony being collected on time. There was once an insident where he was running a few minute late and ponyboy completely freaked out.
