Michael knocked on Evan's door and waited, rocking back and forth on his heels. He was holding a small succulent he had planned on giving to Evan. The door finally opened except it wasn't Evan standing there. An exhausted looking woman stood, Michael assumed her to be Evan's mom.

"Hi, are you Ms.Hansen?" Michael asked, smiling brightly.

"Yes I am..."

"I'm Michael, Evan's friend."

Her eyes grew wide. "Evan? Have you seen him?"

"No actually, that's why I came here. I thought he might be sick or something..."

"Evan actually went missing a few days ago. The police and I have been searching everywhere and I still don't know where he is. He talks about you every chance he gets, I figured maybe you knew where he was... I don't know, I'm just worried and I haven't been thinking straight."

"He went missing?" Michael felt like his heart sank as Evan's mom nodded. "Oh...well is there anything I can do to help?"

"No. The police are searching for him. They said they have it under control."

"I hope he's okay."

"Me too. He didn't...say anything to you?"

"No, he didn't..."

Evan's mom looked like she was about to cry so Michael tried changing the subject. "Well I brought this over for him." He held out the plant to her. "When he comes back will you give it to him?"

She nodded and smiled softly, taking the plant. "I'll put it in his room, he's gonna love it. Thank you Michael."

"No problem." He began to walk off the porch but turned around. "Hey, Ms.H?"

"Yes?"

"They'll find him. He's gonna be okay." Michael reassured her. He wasn't all too sure it was true, but he really hoped it was

She nodded and shut the door.

One thing was for certain, him and Jeremy were going to find Evan.
