Sherlock's Pov-
The rage pulsed through my veins, at every heartbeat I felt ready to explode.
HOW COULD THIS OF HAPPENED? ONCE AGAIN I HAD FAILED HER!
I'm never going to stop disappointing her though am I, I mean lets face it, I'm not exactly 'father material' so to speak.
The minute I got back to the flat I ran up the stairs to find John sitting there reading a book in his chair. He looked over to me as he heard me coming in.
"You alright Sherlock? You're back early aren't you?" He questioned me as he fumbled around in his chair to find his bookmark.
"Yes, well it would seem that some people had other arrangements." I told him as I walked over to him.
"What do you mean? They took her out?" John enquired.
"Not exactly." I revealed as I handed him the necklace.
He took it off me and inspected it in further detail.
"This is Maddy's." John stated the obvious.
"Yes." I agreed.
"So what are you doing with it and why doesn't she have it?" He spoke slowly, trying to uncover the truth. "She loved this, she'd never take it off."
"Exactly." I stated.
"So..?" He dragged out, obviously confused.
"So, someone took it from her." I informed him. "At the same time when they took her."
"Oh. Wait, What?" He replied with concern. "She's missing?"
"Yes, been gone around a month now. God knows what's happened to her by now." I admitted as I joined him opposite in my chair.
"Well didn't her foster family call the police or anything? I mean how could she of been gone that long?" He questioned me.
"Too stupid to realise. Her 'uncle' rocked up one day then offered to take her out for the day, the Colemans agreed to this as Maddy hadn't been coping too well with our separation and she's been gone ever since, supposedly he got in contact with them again and told them that she was enjoying herself so she wanted to stay longer and here we are now." I told him.
"Wait what uncle? Mycroft doesn't have her so who does?" He asked me as he sat forward in his chair as the tension in the room rose.
"Uncle Richard Brook." I stated.
"Moriarty!" John exclaimed, you could see the anger in his face.
I passed him the crumpled note. He studied it closely.
"Sherlock look, you can't let this beat you. Right now you're angry and that's exactly how he wants you to feel so you've got to snap out of it. We've both got to be calm and rational about this." John tried to persuade me.
"Rational? Moriarty has her again! I've failed her! I'm such a useless father, I can't even protect her properly! Look at me, I'm pathetic!" I shouted.
"No you're not! Listen to me Sherlock, you haven't failed her. You're still here aren't you! You can still do something about this! You can't let this defeat you, get it together Sherlock and save her for Christ sakes, while you've still got the chance." He exclaimed.
"Even so, I can't save her John. I don't even know where she is! Let alone if she's alive!" I pointed out.
"You can't think like that Sherlock." He asserted.
"It's been a month John! Who knows what kind of condition she's in, like I said for all we know she could be dead right now." I lowered my head.
"No, because if he did that then he wouldn't have anything to hold over you. He's keeping her alive, somewhere out there she's waiting, waiting for you to come for her and to take her away from all of this." He pointed out.
