36. Missing you

Park Jinyoung's POV:

"Here ya go, buddy." I bent down to place the food bowl filled for Cream to eat.

Mrs. Lee asked me to look after him, since no one is at their home to take care of him as of now so I took him to the dorm with me.

The dog slowly walked over and began munching down on the mixture of rice and dog food I made for him. But stopped and collapsed in exhaustion after a few bites.

"He doesn't look well." I hear Bambam say beside me.

"Do you think I missed something?" I worriedly ask. "Should I take him on a walk more often? But he looks really tired. I only walk him once a day and just two blocks. Maybe it's cause of th-"

"No." He answered. "I think the guy's getting a bit old, that's all. You know how people are when they age, right? It's really obvious. Just take a look at Jeabum hyung. He's a perfect example."

This kid had the urge to cut me off, I'm so holding a grudge on this but I laughed, and Bambam tried to threaten me if I say anything to the ol' man.

"But seriously, am I doing anything wrong?" I asked him as the laughter died down.

He frowned. "I doubt it. You're a good dog owner. Which means you should know by know what option there is left."

I threw him a confused look. "What option?"

He just stared at me blankly and smiled sadly at the still exhausted Cream. Then the realization hit me.

"...oh." I quietly said.

Bambam gave me a pat in the back. "I hope she gets to see him before..you know."

"Yeah."

"Cream was the only piece of you she had for the past ten years after all. He was the only Jinyoung she had." He mumbled, loud enough for me to hear.

"I miss her." I mumbled back.

Lee Mina's POV:

"I have something for you, dear." Mom went up to me as I brushed my hair.

All tests were finished and the doctors said I'm good to go. We were getting ready to leave and were waiting for the car that's going to pick us up and drive back to grandma's.

"What is it?" I put the brush down and asked.

She handed me her phone and I gave her a questioned look. She just smiled and slowly walked out of the room.

Puzzled, I looked at the screen.

A folder in the file manager where there are exactly eight videos. I tapped on the first one.

It started with a very embarrassing close up on Kim Yugyeom's nostrils.

["Lee Mina! I'm not even sure you'll get to see this video and listen to my message but I am really hoping! I have so many stories to tell you!! Okay I'll tell you one...I got spanked in the head by Mr. Ha because I screamed when he came in the classroom. He got scared and screamed as well, in an even higher pitch than mine!! Can you believe it? He sounded so much like a girl!! So please hurry and come back because I have loads more of these to tell! I miss you so much!"]

I found myself tearing up a bit, but still have the strength to check on the second.

It opened with Youngjae's ever-so-wonderful laugh, followed by his singing.

["Ay hyung!! Go away I'm starting to film!
Snowflakes are falling
And you are getting farther away
I miss you
I miss you
How much more do I have to wait?
How many more sleepless nights do I have to spend?
Until I can see you?
...Lee Mina! We miss you!"]

His voice was still the beautiful one that I remember my ears hearing for the very first time.

I watched Jackson's, and he never failed to make me laugh the whole two minutes of it.

Jaebum's was so soothing to listen to I almost fell asleep....just kidding!! it was really touching.

Mark's was expected to be quiet. But he told very meaningful words and touching messages.

Bambam's started with a dab and babbled on about how he misses the Jinyoung-Mina ship.

Jinyoung's was up next. Honestly, I was really nervous to watch it, but I did.

["Lee Mina, annyeong. I have so much to tell you, I don't even know where to start. You know, school is great, I have been studying extra hard the past week. And..."]

I was startled when tears started to flow down his cheeks.

["....I just really miss you so much. I remember, and I'm sorry. I didn't want to tell you through a video but we have to go back to Seoul..."]

He quickly wiped away his tears and cleared his throat then continued talking.

["..So I decided that the only way you'll get to know everything I want to say is when you go back here and see me again. You will, right? I'll be waiting for you here, love. And it's a pity that I'm saying this for the first time through a video but..... I love you."]

I bit my lip not to keep the tears in, but the screams. Did he just...? Omg.

I tried really hard not to grab the lampshade beside me and throw it on the wall because of the giddiness. Someone help me.

After a few minutes, I breathed out ans calmed myself. There's still a last video to be played.

Song Yoonjae's bubbly face showed up and he slowly backed away after fixing the phone's position. He smiled and then spoke. A voice I've also been dying to hear again.

["Lee Mina, I'm lowkey hoping you're seeing this before it's too late, but if not, that's okay as well. Get all the rest that you need just promise me you'll wake up.."]

What? Too late for what?

["...If you do see this when It's too late, I just want to let you know how proud I am of you. How I miss you so much. I know you'll wake up. You're still that strong girl who tripped but stood back up and ran that I first laid my eyes on. You can do it..."]

My questions are still unanswered. He smiled weakly through the screen, eyes are getting kind of moist. He took a deep breath and spoke again.

["...The thing is, I'll be leaving to go abroad, and I don't think I'll be coming ba--"]

The video just ended like that. And it left me confused and anxious.

He said nothing of the sort when I called him last night.

["Y-you're a-awake?"] He stuttered.

"Yeah, and I have a favor to ask. Please don't tell everyone I want to surprise them." I said.

There was a long pause at the other side.

["...I'm sorry, Lee Mina. I don't think I can."]

So that was what he meant.

I quickly fished my bag for my own phone and called him.
