Until Wednesday, I tried to concentrate on school and to not think too much about unicef. Successfully about that, the days went by pretty fast and on Thursday evening I packed my bag. Tomorrow after school, I would meet Noah for the first time. My mother told me, that he already worked for her a few times before. She didnt say why he wasnt working for her anymore but I also didn't ask.
On Wednesday, after the last lesson in school, I said goodbye to my friends, because I wouldnt see them until next Monday and went home. Like I said, I packed my bag the day before and until Noah and my Mother arrived, I had circa one hour for myself.
Arrived at home, I put my shoes under the shoe bench, hung my jacket onto our wardrobe and went through the white, shiny corridor to our kitchen.
I have never been a great cook, so I just made myself some noodles.
When I finished the plate, I cleaned up the mess I made and went into my room to put on some clothes that were more comfortable.
I know that one actually does not wear something like sweatpants when they meet someone for the first time, but Noah and I would be on the move for circa 6 hours so I'd like to wear comfy clothes.I threw my old clothes on my bed and searched out a black pair of sweatpants and a thin grey hoody and also put on my white Stan Smiths. After that I went into the bathroom to freshen myself up a bit. While I drew my hands with the towel I heard how somebody unlocked the front door and then two voices, of which one was my mothers.
I took my bag and my backpack and went down the stairs into the dining room. My mother stood behind the counter, which connected our dining room with our open kitchen, and I heard the coffee machine rumbling. When I looked over to the table I saw Noah sitting there, facing me with his back.
He had hazel colored hair, and this typical undercut, relatively broad shoulders and a very upstanding posture.
"Hi" I said into the room because nobody had noticed me. Noah turned around and instantly stood up to shake my hand with a friendly and very sympathetic smile on his lips.
"Nice to meet you, Im Noah." He was taller than I had expected him to be and next to his 6'4", my 5'9" looked a bit small. His eyes had the same color as his hair, which fell a little bit messy onto his forehead, what I personally, really liked. I have to admit, he is definitely one good looking man.
We sat down onto the table and my mother passed Noah a cup of coffee.
"So, sweetie, like I already told you, Noah will escort you the whole trip on" she examined the 'the whole trip' "And if needed he will drive you too." Her mimic was serious. I think she is just nervous to let me go alone for the first time, even though I wasnt really alone.
"Your Hotel is 2 blocks away from the unicef building, so you won't need to drive there. Your hotel rooms are next to each other. Tomorrow morning, Viktoria Curbelo, will pick you up in the foyer, and will also escort you the day on." Noah listened attentively.
After another thirty minutes, my mother finished and we stood up to go outside to the car. Noah existed on taking my bag, so I just stood there with my backpack in front of my mother, while the tall man was loading my bag into the trunk.
"Mum! Don't worry so much, I am not a little kid anymore and not alone" I practically begged her to stop worrying and hugged her tightly. I said goodbye to my father the evening before, because he was away, all day long today.
"I know, but I still am a little scared, honey"
"You don't need to. We see us again on Friday already.". After a few more hugs and encouraging words I finally sat down onto the seat, next to Noah and he started the car.
