People always think of being the child of well-known parents as either very cool or very shitty. I see both sides and I think as the daughter of a highly regarded film producer and a successful actress I can judge very well. I got to know both sides, voluntary or involuntary, however you want to see it.

I have this habit of examining the good and bad things of being a famous daughter in specific moments. Right now, I am actually satisfied. Except of my dumb shoes that hurt my heel. I will definitely get a stain of that. But for the red carpet and its aggregation of photographers everyone has to look as good as they can.

Today are the Golden Globes and I escord my parents who are nominated multiple times. My father, Jerry Bruckheimer is nominated twice, with his movie 'Con Air'' in the category 'Best Motion Picture – Drama' and with 'Lone Ranger' in 'Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy' and my Mother, Diane Lane, is nominated with the movie 'Paris can wait' in 'Best Performance by an actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy'.

A few minutes ago, we arrived and since then we stand on the red carpet and smile into the cameras lightning. The photographers stand behind a barricade, which is circa 50 feet long. Now and then the paparazzi shout my name or my parents name to get our attention for a good picture.

After a few minutes, I step a few feet away from my parents so that the photographers can get photos of them and of me alone. I try to smile in every direction once and after two minutes or so I move on and go into the section were there are only a few more hired photographers for the event and some more interviewers and journalists.

I see a few familiar faces, most of them are friends or colleagues of my parents. This for example is one of the advantages of having famous parents. All their colleagues you get to know and meet through them. Last year I met Orlando bloom and talked with him about the latest news. Or the year before that I talked with Helena Bonham Carter about Hogwarts.
And of course all the people I get to meet through events like this

I greeted Johnny Depp, who was nominated with my father, when my parents appeared next to me. 'Come on Julia, we have to find our seats' so I dismissed Johnny and followed my parents right away in the direction of the big hall where the prices would be distributed later.

Before we reached the big door, an Interviewer appealed to my father. 'Mister Bruckheimer, can I ask you some questions about your new movie?' the girl immediately held a microphone under my fathers face, who just smiled. 'Of course, how are you today?', my father asked as if he hadn't just met her for the first time. Papa liked the glory and he knew how to handle it. I still had to learn how to handle all the attention but I also liked to be alone or with my friends.

'Mum, do you want to go get something to drink with me?', I asked because our attendance was unnecessary right now. 'Sure honey, but let us say hi to the Garlands first.' When she said 'The Garlands' I looked at her with shock. 'The Garlands are here too?' I asked hysterically. My mother looked at me with confusion. 'Yes, they are, I thought it was obvious?', I must've forgotten that.

'Well.. ehm.. It doesnt matter. Where are they?' My thirst was forgotten when I saw Maja. She was the daughter of Alex Garland, a film regisseur and my best friend.

We hugged and I said Hi to her parents. 'I missed you Maja', I said with a smile. Often, we only meet at events like this. Our mothers got to know each other a few years ago during a movie making, fortunately for us, because since then, our families were friends.

After the greeting I pulled her with me to the bar. 'Now tell me what happened since the last time we saw each other', The last time we met was three weeks ago. 'And you have to tell me about Tony? You mentioned him in a few messages', I looked at her with a smirk.

When I named Tony, I noticed how Maja blushed a little. 'Ok so, his actual name is Anthony but he wants me to call him Tony..'.We arrived at the bar and took a seat in two stools. 'He moved in my neighborhood two weeks ago and since then I always see him coincidentally on the street.'

'As well as I know you, you go out of your house on purpose just to meet him', I giggled and she blushed even more.

She wanted to respond but she got cut off by a cough behind us. 'Sorry to interrupt, but..' We turned around and there stood a tall brown-haired boy. He wore completely black clothes except for his jacket, it was dark grey, what was a great contrast. I definitely saw his face before, but I just couldnt remember where. '.. You are Julia Bruckheimer, right?'

'Ehm.. Yes I am' I spoke slowly and a bit shyly. I wasn't nt the best when it came to meeting new people.

I know I saw him in the media before but I just couldn't recognize his name.

He seemed very friendly with his light grin and glowing brown eyes. Or am I just fantasizing? 'I'm Shawn and, actually, I wanted to say hi to you before. I saw you last month at the Oscars but somehow, I couldn't come up to you and I'm sorry for that.', he said calmly and chuckled nervously.

When he mentioned his name I remembered who he was. He was Shawn Mendes, the singer who build his fame and success by himself. Impressive.

'Oh but that's totally fine'. I mean it's really cute of him to introduce himself. 'It's really nice to meet you now' I added. I don't know why but with every word I spoke my nervousness grew.

'Yeah it's nice to meet you too, finally. You too', the last part was meant for Maja who just friendly smiled at him in return and went on to observe the happening.

'Well, I just wanted to say hi and ..uhm and I think I have to go to my seat now' Shawn responded and looked embarrassed onto the floor before he continued 'I wish you two a nice evening.', and turned around to walk away.

Before he turned around completely I almost yelled: 'Yeah, you too, maybe we see us again' and laughed a bit strange out of nervousness. But Shawn just smirked at me and replied 'That would be nice.'.

I watched him until he disappeared in the crowd and then slowly turned around to Maja who watched me with amusement. She began to laugh, 'What was that?' but I just gently shook my head and looked at the floor. 'I dont know' Maja just laughed even more.

And that, was the first time that I met him.
