I heard a light chuckle behind me and turned back around. "No problem" Shawn said and I just realized what Maja had done. "I wanted to talk to you tonight anyways"
"Yeah?" I asked and laughed nervously. I turned around so I was now completely facing him. I would kill Maja when I saw her again.
"Yeah, uhm, you still don't follow me back on social media."
"What?" I asked confused but as soon as he began to chuckle I realized that he was kidding.
"Just joking. I actually, uhm, wanted to say sorry,.. that I didn't already talked to you at the after party from the Golden Globes"
"Oh, I didn't know you wanted to, I actually thought you didn't want to because Maja saw you but then you weren't there anymore" I said and gesticulated with my hands.
"You looked for me?" he said and I realized what I just said. Great, I am the totally best when it comes to flirting. Now he knows that I looked for him that evening.
"No, I mean, you talked to me just before the show started" I excused myself a bit too fast. "I thought that was really nice". I didn't really know where to look while I was speaking so I alternately looked into his eyes and onto the floor.
"No, I uh, really did want to talk to you again at the party but I unexpectedly had to leave earlier."
"You really don't have to excuse yourself, I just could've come to you too, you know" I said and looked at him.
It was dark in here but with these party lights you cold still see what the other one was wearing. He wore a dark blue shirt with a white line pattern and a dark blue pair of trousers in which his shirt was tucked into. He had rolled up his sleeves to his elbow which made his outfit 10 times hotter.
"You did now. More or less voluntarily" he said and laughed.
"Oh, you saw that?" this time I was the one who scratched her arm. "I'm sorry I don't know what Maja was thinking"
"Oh, no no, it's good, I mean, now we finally talk, right?" he quickly said with a light smile.
He was right. I feel like we have unofficially waited a long time to talk to each other and now we finally did. I don't know why I was so nervous about it, because it was all good, so I tried to relax a bit.
"Yeah, right" I agreed. "Oh yeah, I also wanted to say sorry that you didn't win the award" I told him and he smirked at me.
"Thanks, but it's ok. Not many can say that they even were nominated so I'm still happy" he smiled and looked onto the floor but one could still see the proudness in his expression.
He suddenly touched my arm and lightly pushed me to the side. When he nodded in the direction behind me I saw that we stood in the way of some people.
"Is it on purpose, that your dresses are in the same color like the Unicef logo?" he suddenly asked and looked down onto my dress.
"Yes, it actually is, how cool that you noticed it" i said with a light laugh.
"Of course I did" he said and gave me a look, that I couldn't really classify.
It seemed like that awkward atmosphere slowly came up, where nobody knew what he should say and we kinda just looked everywhere except into each other faces.
I couldn't stand that silence and I didn't want to seem shy so I just said what came into my mind next. "Uhm, do you maybe want to drink something with me and the boys over there?" I asked him and pointed to the bar where the boys still stood. When I looked over there I saw that Maja also returned to the boys so I added: "And Maja"
As soon as I asked him he began to smile. "Yeah, of course I want to" so I smiled too and nodded to him that he should follow me. He quickly turned to the people he was talking to before and said something and then walked after me.
After a minute we reached the bar and the group of boys who were standing there with my best friend.
"I'm back" I said so they turned around. "And I brought someone". I then looked to Maja who just tried to not look me into my eyes but couldn't suppress a laugh.
Shawn and I joined the round so he was standing next to Ashton and I stood next to Maja, and I saw that Luke and Michael also came back.
"Hey, congrats on your win" Shawn said with a honest smile and greeted the boys and Maja.
"Thanks bud, but you deserved it too" Ashton said and Luke nodded in agreement. The boys quickly began to talk about the award and I turned to Maja and gave her a look that asked for an explanation.
"Don't look at me like that!" she said in a volume that the boys couldn't hear. My plan worked out perfectly" she laughed and I looked at her with shock.
"Your plan?" I repeated in disbelieve but couldn't hide my laugh. "You are so crazy. I don't know why I am friends with you" I laughed and shook my head.
"You'll thank me later" she just answered and smirked.
"Girls!" Michael caught our attention and we looked to him. "You still owe us a shot"
"Oh, yeah of course" I laughed and drank the last sip of my first drink and then placed the empty cup on the bar.
"Do you drink one with us?" I asked Shawn. "Of course. I didn't expect you to drink alcohol to be honest" he answered and laughed.
"I could say the same about you" I laughed back.
Michael and Calum came back from the counter with seven shot glasses and gave each of us one. We waited until everyone was ready and drowned them in one move.
I felt how my face wanted to squeeze itself but I tried to suppress it. I saw how Luke, Ashton and Maja's faces squeezed too and I was lucky that I wasn't the only one.
Shawn, Michael, and Calum drowned their shots like it was water.
This was the first of many shots and after two hours of drinking and laughing together it was easy to say that we all had the same kind of humor and got along very well.
I don't know if it was the alcohol but I felt like Shawn always stood next to me, no matter if we all were at the bar or somewhere else. Not that it bothered me or so, I thought it was really cute so I also stayed at his side, inconspicuously.
We didn't drink too much, we weren't totally drunk but we still had a few drinks, so everything was a bit funnier than it already was.

Also, in every story i read, the girl is always so small and has to look up so high to see the boys face and yeah, i personally like it when the boy is a bit taller but not that it would be an extreme difference.
I mean, you can imagine Shawn and Julia however you like it but I, myself, imagine Julia with high heels just like 2 cm shorter than Shawn, so when she wears sneakers or no shoes the heigh difference between them two is not too big
