I stood over a pile of bodies with my fist raised in the air. My raised hand clutched something tightly, it felt like a tangled mess of hair in my hand.

The faces of my former classmates stared up at me in horror. They all looked older and more mature. None of them dared to speak a word.

The wind made the head in my hand slowly turn towards me. The nameless face of it stared back at me. I could finally tell who the face belonged to.

It was mine.

I woke in the darkness of my dorm in a cold sweat. I had been having that same dream for weeks and it still made me feel the same way. Very uneasy.

I'd  been at Akio academy for about a month and all has gone pretty smooth. I hadn't made any friends, but i'd gotten into a routine and had become acquainted with my teachers. Everything was about as normal as it could be. Minus the fact I was utterly alone.

I got out of bed and walked down the small hallway out of my room to the living room. I turned on the TV. The room was still pitch black because it was probably 1am. I always woke around the same time every time after I had this dream. The light from the screen filled the room. The TV was blinding, but I still watched in silence.

The girl at the desk adjacent to mine stared down at the paper on her desk. It was obvious she had no idea what was going on which was exactly how I felt at the moment. I was never very good at math, and I wasn't fully used to the transition from hero studies back to plain old school required curriculum. I wasn't stupid by any means, I've just realized that I should've thought through the whole coming back to normal school thing.

The girl's dirty blonde hair covered her face and she slipped it behind her ear. I hadn't really had the urge to talk to anybody at this school at all until this moment. I really wanted to talk to someone.

I listened partly to the teacher in front of me, but was thinking about when the bell was going to ring, because I was going to talk to this girl.

At last the bell rang for lunch. I quickly stood up from my chair, with it of course making the loud screeching sound, and tapped her on the shoulder.

She looked up at me from her seat. Her brown eyes glistened. Her mouth was drawn into a tight line. She didn't look very happy.

"Hi, uh.." I scratched my neck, "I'm Midoriya Izuku and I transferred here recently, and..."

"I have a boyfriend," she scoffed as she got up from her seat. She swung her bag over her shoulder and walked away from me.

I felt defeated. She was the first person I had gotten the courage to talk to, and I knew I should've expected that.

I sighed and went back to my seat.

I was stopped on my way back to my dorm by the blonde girl from earlier. Her face didn't look as mean this time.

"I didn't realize who you were, and I am sorry," she said apologetically.

I shrugged and walked past her.

"You have no friends! I was going to be nice and actually not ignore you this time!" She called after me.

I ignored her words and kept walking. I felt a tug at the buckle on my belt. My feet continued and let the feeling go. The pull got stronger and I was turned towards the girl. The metal from my belt was pulling me towards her. Her brown eyes were squinted and focused on me.

My shoes skidded across the pavement until I was inches from her.

"Magnetic, huh?" I said in shock. She had a strong quirk.

"Yeah," she huffed, "and please don't ignore someone when they try talking to you!"

"What made you decide you wanted to actually talk to me? Earlier you seemed pretty keen on the fact you had a boyfriend." I crossed my arms.

"Its a defense mechanism. All the guys here are dicks and, I don't know. I don't actually have a boyfriend..... How about we start over? I'm Akemi Som, and I have a magnetism quirk as you can see. Although it only works when metal objects are within 20 yards of me." She put some hair behind her ear and held out her hand.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya. I don't have a quirk and it's nice to meet you," I firmly shook her hand.

"No quirk, huh? That sucks," she said. "Well if you're ever in danger just give me a holler and i'll save you."

She punched my arm playfully. I smiled.

I have no quirk. I had no quirk?

We walked in casual conversation all the way back to my dorm.
