Akemi was sat across from me on the floor of my living room. Her blonde hair covered her face as she hunched over her phone screen. I looked down at the math homework in front of me. Yep, still not good at it. She had been coming over to my dorm for days now to study with me. She was my only friend at the moment.

"Hey, Akemi?" I tried asking her as I looked up from my paper. She ignored my words.

"AKEMI!!" I yelled towards her. Her head popped up from her phone and she smiled at me.

"Sorry! I got distracted... again. It's just that Yuuei's students are on the news! They're showing some highlights of class 1-A's students when they trained with their mentors back in the fall," she looked back at me. "I've always wanted to go to Yuuei."

I felt my hands tense around my pencil. She probably knows who I am. Why is she playing along with my quirkless charade? She shut off her phone screen and I loosened my grip on the pencil. Hopefully she didn't see me on there or if she did I was about to find out.

"You aren't in any clubs right?" She asked me. She begun swirling a piece of hair around her finger.

I shook my head. I had totally forgotten that joining a club was a requirement for students.

"You should join the HOA club! I'm the vice president," she blushed. "It stands for 'Heroes of Akio'.. very stupid I know. "

"No, no, no! That isn't stupid at all! What is that club?" I scratched my neck nervously. She probably saw I wasn't quirkless.

"Well we pick up trash around the school, stop school bullies, and after hours in secret we stop real criminals... but its only happened once haha," Her cheeks became a deep red. "I'm sorry for asking. I know the club is lame... I just--"

"No Akemi I'm sure it's really fun! I just don't have a quirk, so I don't know how much of a hero I would be."

"I was thinking you could be our brains! I know that you are really smart when it comes to planing attacks and stuff..." She sighed, "Our president just quit too, and I am not saying you have to be his replacement I just think you'd be good in his place. I don't know."

"Haha, Akemi!" I put a hand on her shoulder. "It sounds fun. I'll join if it means this much to you. What else do I have to do?"

"Haha, yeah," she looked down. "Thanks Izuku."

The softness in her voice melted me. I wrapped my arms around her and she returned it. She was such a nice girl. I didn't deserve her.

The club meetings took place in a cramped room in the basement of the school. The air-conditioning loudly filled the room with sound. I was sat at the head of a small rectangular table with Akemi on my right and 3 kids whom I didn't know on my left.

One of the kids was a boy with short blue hair and purple cat eyes. I could see short ears poking out from his head, and his hands with claw-like nails crossed on the table. Next to him was a girl with should-length red hair. Her golden eyes popped against her pale complexion. The last kid at the table was a smaller boy who had white hair and huge green eyes. I couldn't really tell what their quirks were by looking at them, except for the cat kid.

"Hi," I mumbled out.

The sound of the loud machinery drowned me out. Everyone cupped their hands around their ears, even the cat boy.

"Hi!" I yelled as the machinery quieted.

"Wow, you don't have to yell," the cat boy said as he leaned back in his chair.

Akemi stared the boy down and tipped his chair over with her magnetic quirk.

"Be nice Riku!" She said frustratedly.

He sat up from the floor and got back in his chair. He slowly turned to face her and hissed.

"You wanna go Riku?????" She said abruptly standing from her chair.

"You assholes! This is why our last president quit!" The red haired girl said as she banged her head on the table. The small boy patted her back.

"I'm sorry for my behavior, Izuku," Akemi sat down and quickly glared at Riku. "And so is he. Right?"

Riku nodded without making any eye contact with anyone.

"Lets properly introduce ourselves to Izuku," she smiled her white smile towards me. "He already knows me so Riku you go first you pussy."

"Fuck you Akemi," He rolled his eyes. "I'm Riku and my quirk is cat-like instincts like claws and hearing and shit." He shrugged.

"God, Riku you suck!" The red haired girl said. "Well I'm Mikiko but you can call me Miki! My quirk is freezing time! Not really as cool as it seems because I can only freeze time for the people in my view, and I can't blink or I unfreeze time."

"I'm Sora!" The small boy from the end of the table said. "I can get into people's bodies and overshadow them! I can be them for 5 minutes before I turn back."

I nodded. These kids were very powerful to be that they go to normal school. I was shocked.

"I'm Izuku and I am quirkless," I smiled.

Riku bursted out in laughter.

"Yeah, like we are going to believe that bullshit," Riku's canines were visible while he chuckled. "We all know you used to go to Yuuei!"

I turned my head towards Akemi.

She shrugged.

"I did some research," she blushed. "The information wasn't hard to find."

I sighed loudly.

"Well, yes I do have a quirk and I did go to Yuuei and I don't any longer--"

"Did you get kicked out?" Sora chimed in. Miki slapped him on the leg.

"No, and I don't want to talk about it."

"I heard you punched a civilian," Riku said as he looked down at his claws.

I pursed my lips in a tight line. Looks like my past was going to follow me everywhere I went. I couldn't escape.

"I'm not denying any of it. I don't want to use my quirk again. Please let it all go. I'll be your club president if you just don't bring any of this up again. I will help you guys," I said neutrally. I didn't know what to feel.

"Woah, woah, woah!" Riku said loudly, finally putting his full attention in the conversation. "I thought we voted on me as the next president!"

Akemi magnetized onto Riku's earring and smashed his face into the table.

"YOu bitch!" Riku cursed as he held his nose. "Fine be the president I don't care."

Akemi crossed her hands on the table and turned to me with a small smile. I smiled back at her.

"Ok, are we all in agreement?" I questioned.

Everyone nodded towards me. Riku nodded reluctantly as well.

I was the president of a club. I had no idea how past me would've felt. I had no idea what I was doing or where I was going , but this was a step in some direction?
