It's been 1 week since Liam's death and his funeral is tomorrow. I'm not sure if I should go or not.I needed someone to talk to, I decided to go over to Kaylan's. She didn't live too far away, just 4 floors below mine. I walked into the elevator, and to my surprise, I saw Aaron. I didn't say anything to him.
He glared at me. All of a sudden, the elevator stops, and the lights go out. Oh my gosh, "Are you serious," I mumbled. I would prefer to be stuck in an elevator with anyone else I know!
I pushed the help button and crossed my arms. "You're not going to say anything to me, huh Adams?" Aaron questioned.
"Nope," I replied popping the P. "I understand you don't want to talk to me but-, "Then don't talk to me!" I shouted.
The help still wasn't here and I was starting to get more and more annoyed. "Jessica, I'm going to talk to you whether you like it or not, and you are going to listen," Aaron approached.
I pretended I wasn't listening but I actually was.
He told me every single detail and I shockingly believed him. I knew that Aaron wasn't a good liar, so he was most likely telling the truth. "I believe you," I said, as the elevator door finally opened.
"So will you be my girlfriend again?" he asked excitingly.
"Are you serious, I just got out of the hospital yesterday, someone tried to kill me last week, and my ex-boyfriend jumped to his death 7 days ago, and you want me to date you? You may not have cheated on me but, you are still a jerk!" I screamed.
I stormed out of the elevator, I really needed someone to talk to! I knocked on Kaylan's door, it felt like I haven't talked to her in ages even though she and Bella just visited me at the hospital 2 days ago.
"Who is it?" A male voice asked.
"Jessica, Kaylan's friend." The man opened the door. He was very good looking, he seemed to be around 20. He had medium-toned skin. Curly, dark brown locks and sparkling blue eyes. He was wearing a Supreme hoodie and Bape shorts.
"Hi, I'm Lucas, Kaylan's older brother." Damn was he fine, but I've had enough of guys recently.
"Hello, I'm Jessica," I quickly responded. "What a pretty name for a pretty girl," he replied as I blushed, I don't really do that often.
"Thank you," I giggled. He nodded and waved goodbye before walking out. I walked into Kaylan's penthouse, closed the door, and locked it. "Kaylan, it's Bella!" I called out. I have never been to Kaylan's place before, but the layout was exactly like mine. Her place seemed more modern with the black and white theme.
"Jessie!" she cheered as she came downstairs. "Surprise!" I said as I threw up jazz hands.
I put on my best serious face. "We need to talk," she pointed upstairs to her room and I followed.
...
I told her everything, from Liam committing suicide to the scene Aaron and I had in the elevator. She comforted me and also told me a lot of other things, how her dad is an alcoholic and how he's barely home, to how her brother's twin sister died in a high school party held by students who used to go to our school.
I felt that I could tell her anything, and I think that she felt the same. I even told her about my dad and Justin, and no one else in Miller High knows about that. They just assume that my parents are divorced and I'm an only child.
I saw a family picture in Kaylan's room. Her mom had fair skin, blonde hair down to her waist, and blue sparkly eyes. Lucas looked a lot like his mom but with darker skin and hair. Kaylan was somewhere in the middle with her dad's nose, and eyes, but her mom's, mouth, and slim figure.
"How does your family look so beautiful?" I questioned. "Trust me, we may look pretty on the outside, but on the inside, I beg to differ," we both cracked up in laughter.
"Are you going to Liam's funeral tomorrow?" she asked with a serious look on her face.
"You know, I've been thinking about it, and I think I'm going to go," I said.
...
It was the day of Liam's funeral, I took a long, 15-minute shower. I thought about so many things. What if I regret going? I brushed that thought aside.
I got out of the shower, put on my towel, and spread an outfit on my couch:
I unzipped my dress and slid into it, I put on my pearl earrings. I decided that I wasn't going to wear makeup, so I just moisturized my lips with a pink eos. I put on high-heels, and by high- I mean really high.
I grabbed my phone and walked downstairs. I put my phone into my small black cross-body purse. I took my key from my holder and walked out of my now empty penthouse.
...
The funeral is close to being over. They were lots of people from my school including Kaylan and Bella, I'm not surprised Aaron's not here.
People close to him were allowed to visit Liam's body, I decided to be the first one to go.
I just looked at the non-living body. I accidentally touched it. It felt weird, it didn't feel like human skin. I picked up his hand, it read 'MADE IN CHINA' in red. This is obviously not Liam.
