Many sandwings have black marks around their eyes (like cheetahs!!) to cut down on the glare from the sun in the scorching desert. These marks actually reflect the blinding sunlight away from a dragon's eyes, resulting in much clearer vision during the day. They are far more effective for dragons than cheetahs because of the natural reflective properties of scales. While not every sandwing has these marks, they are very common among the tribe.
