The Good Doctor - Chip: Part 1

Hi! I am SO SORRY for missing yesterday's upload! I got caught up in craft-making and I completely forgot to upload. I hope this is worth it...Enjoy!

Shaun slowly opened his eyes. He rubbed them to try to get the sleep out of them, and that seemed to work a bit. He came to his senses and soon realized his phone was ringing. He picked up his phone, cleared his throat and answered it.

"H-Hello?" Shaun said.

"Hello Shaun, it's Dr. Andrews calling. I'm just calling to let you know that the hospital is going to be closed today, due to an LED light fixture falling overnight." Dr. Andrews said. Shaun took a minute or two, to process the new information.

"Closed? No working today?" Shaun thought. This was gonna be a boring day.

"Okay," Shaun said, slightly sad.

"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." Dr. Andrews concluded and hung up. Shaun ended the phone call on his end and looked at the time.

Shaun closed his phone and closed his eyes for a minute.

*Ding-ing-ing-ing! Ding-ing-ing-ing!* Shaun heard from his phone. He turned it off and started getting ready.

Meanwhile:

"Okay. Thanks, Dr. Andrews. Bye." Dr. Melendez said and hung up.

A free day! No extra money, but free days are worth it. Dr. Melendez placed his phone down and went back to sleep for a couple more hours.

Eventually, Dr. Melendez woke up and got himself some breakfast. He poured some Nesquik cereal, poured some milk, and brought it to the table. Then, he proceeded to check his social media and eat at the same time. After a few minutes of doing this, Dr. Melendez received a phone call from Dr. Kalu. He picked it up.

"Hello?" Dr. Melendez asked.

"Hey Neil, do you know why the hospital is closed today? Dr. Andrews didn't tell me." Dr. Kalu asked.

"No. Dr. Andrews didn't tell me." Dr. Melendez said.

"Okay. I'll ask Claire for info." Dr. Kalu said.

"Okay. I'll call Shaun." Dr. Melendez said and hung up. He dialed Shaun's cell phone number and put the phone up to his ear.

"...Hello?" Shaun said.

"Hi, Shaun. Do you know why the hospital is closed today? Dr. Andrews didn't tell me." Dr. Melendez complained.

"He...he s-..." Shaun stumbled on his words.

"The hospital is going to be closed today, due to an LED light fixture falling overnight," Shaun said, quoting Dr. Andrews. Dr. Melendez blinked in surprise.

"An LED fixture fell? Wow." Dr. Melendez asked.

"Dr. Andrews told me. We have a day off." Shaun said.

"Okay. Thanks. Do you have any plans?" Dr. Melendez asked.

"No," Shaun said bluntly.

"Uh...Okay. Me neither. Did you wanna hang out?" Dr. Melendez asked. Shaun thought about it for a second.

"Okay." Shaun agreed.

"Alright. Do you like Star Wars? I've got the first 3 movies on DVD." Dr. Melendez suggested.

Shaun didn't really know what Star Wars was, but it sounded interesting.

"What's Star Wars?" Shaun asked, slightly laughing at the name.

"Uh...What?! Don't you know what Star Wars is? Everyone does!" Dr. Melendez exclaimed.

"I don't," Shaun replied.

"Sorry, I can't accept that. I'm bringing the Star Wars movies over, and you are going to watch them with me." Dr. Melendez playfully forced. Shaun didn't catch the playfulness but agreed to the idea.

"Okay. Your apartment is where?" Shaun asked.

"Oh, right. According to my phone, your house is not far from here. Dr. Browne tells me you don't drive, so would you like me to pick you up?" Dr. Melendez asked.

"Yes please," Shaun replied.

"Okay. See you in 15." Dr. Melendez said and hung up on him.

"What does that phrase mean?" Shaun asked himself as he whipped out his phone and went into Safari...
