"Next up, we have the famous choreographer Stacey Hudgens. She will be performing a solo dance, to the song Shatter Me." The judge announced. Stacey walked onto the stage and got in her starting position.
She hears the snowglobe wind up, her cue to start dancing in a beat or two, and the music box melody starts to play. She starts dancing with strong arms and pointed, stiff toes.
I pirouette in the dark,
I see the stars through a mirror. She spins a few times, speed walks on her toes, and does a jeté in the air.
Tired mechanical heart
Beats till the song disappears. She does a demi turn, pas de bourée's to the other side of the stage, and an adagio is thrown in.
Somebody shine a light,
I'm frozen by the fear in me.
Somebody make me feel alive,
And shatter me!Stacey does the choreography faster, as she thinks of the next step ahead of time. Changement, Fondu, en pas, and pirouette. She thinks. One beat later, she acts.
So cut me from the light,
Dizzy spinning endlessly. She pirouettes 5 times in a row, a préperation and an arabesque.
Somebody make me feel alive...
She does bouree's to the left side of the stage, and prepares herself for the grand Jeté.
And SHATTER MEEEE!
Jump!
*POP!*...
Meanwhile:
"Good morning." Shaun said as he walked through the entrance."Hey Shaun." Dr. Browne said, holding her coffee. Shaun walked up to her and stood beside her.
"How was your morning?" Dr. Browne asked. Shaun fiddled with his fingers.
"Okay. Where's everyone else?" Shaun asked. Dr. Browne awkwardly puts down her coffee.
"I don't know." Dr. Browne replied. Dr. Kalu walked in and signalled for the 2 doctors to follow him.
"Dr. Melendez and Dr. Andrews need us in his office." Dr. Kalu said as they walked to the office.
"Who's office?" Shaun asked.
"Andrews'." Dr. Kalu replied. They walked into Dr. Andrews' office and sat down.
"Great. You're all here." Dr. Andrews said, slightly frantically.
"You look panicked. Is there an emergency?" Dr. Browne asked.
"It's not an emergency, but it's not exactly mild either. I've just been notified by a couple nurses, that a professional dancer had just arrived to the hospital with a ruptured achilles tendon." Dr. Andrews explained.
"And we're gonna need to put her into surgery as soon as we can, or else it's not as easily treatable." Dr. Melendez added, handing Shaun the information. Shaun opened up the information folder.
"S-Stacey Hudgens." Shaun read aloud.
"Stacey Hudgens? I've never heard of her." Dr. Kalu said.
"That's because one, she's a local dancer, and two, she's often found choreographing music videos behind the scenes." Dr. Browne corrects.
"Oh. I didn't know that. What do you think Shaun?" Dr. Kalu asked. He watched as Shaun clicked Google Images, and looked at a picture of the young dancer.
"She's pretty." Shaun mentioned as he closed his phone and walked away.
The four doctors walked into the patient's room.
"Hello Stacey. I'm Dr. Melendez. This is Dr. Kalu, Dr. Browne and Dr. Murphy. We'll be fixing your achilles tendon. Is there any other health concerns we should be concerned about?" Dr. Melendez asked. Stacey shook her head. Dr. Melendez nodded and left. Dr. Browne walked up to Stacey.
"Hi Stacey." Dr. Browne said.
"Hi." Stacey replied.
"I used to watch a lot of your dances on TV. You never failed to amaze me." Dr. Browne said.
"Awesome. Did you want an autograph?" Stacey asked. Dr. Browne gasped.
"Wait...You're willing to...Yes. Yes please!" Dr. Browne said, jumping up and down excitedly. Stacey smiled and grabbed a pen out of her pocket. Dr. Browne pulled out a piece of paper and gave it to Stacey. Stacey signed it and gave it back to her. Dr. Browne squealed.
"Thank you!" Dr. Browne said excitedly and ran away to show it off. Shaun stared at Stacey, looking at her bright blue colours.
"uh...Hi?" Stacey said, awkwardly. Shaun continued looking at her eyes.
"The...sky...is in your eyes." Shaun said slowly. Stacey looked to the left of Shaun, and back at him. Suddenly, Shaun turned around and left the room. Stacey lifted her eyebrow at Dr. Kalu, who was standing there the entire time.
"I have no idea what that was." Dr. Kalu said, breaking the silence.
"Is he okay?" Stacey asked.
"I think so? It's hard to tell. He's autistic, so he thinks in ways I can't even imagine." Dr. Kalu said.
"Oh. Okay." Stacey said. Dr. Kalu left and found Shaun outside of the room.
"Hey Shaun, are you okay?" Dr. Kalu asked. Shaun ignored his question and continued to stare into space.
"Did you hear me?" Dr. Kalu asked. Shaun ignored him once again. Dr. Kalu sighed, stood up and started walking away.
"Bye." Shaun said. Dr. Kalu stopped walking.
"Oh, now you talk." Dr. Kalu said, walking a couple steps closer to Shaun.
"I..don't like questions." Shaun said before leaving. Dr. Kalu thought for a second. Then, he turned around and left...
