Chapter 14

-1 week later-

-Cat Noir's POV-

We were finally back in Paris, but let's just say it wasn't a great welcome back.

"W-what are you doing?!" I yelled, reaching out for Ladybug.
"Listen, ca...Adrien. He will kill everyone in the vicinity if you come a step closer."

"That's right." ??? said.

Every road in view was filled with people watching what was going on.

The akumatised man threw Ladybug's yoyo and cracked it to bits.
There was nothing she could do now. I walk toward the two, she falls and dies. The police or anyone come up on this roof, she gets dropped and dies.
"Hand over your miraculous. Now. Or she dies."

"I hand over my miraculous you'll kill everyone here! Including her!" I screamed, tears forming in my eyes.

"I promise I will not kill her, or anyone in this city. Now give me your miraculous. I do not break a promise."

"Cat don't even think about it!" She screeched, struggling about.

"L-Lady...I'm sorry. I can't let him kill you." I croaked, starting to remove my miraculous.
"Cat, i'm not going to have you make that choice. So i'll make it for you." She sighed, "W-what do you mean?" I stuttered, reaching out my hand.

"Goodbye, and thankyou..."

She let go of the mans hand and fell off the 13 story building.

"N-no...M'lady!"

I dropped to my knees and threw my miraculous behind me.
"I'm done with this crap." I mumbled as my suit and mask slowly faded off and tears poured from my eyes.
"Come on. Take the miraculous. I don't care. Not anymore." I said blankly, still on my knees.

The akumatised person, whose name i'd forgotten, walked towards me but hesitated at first.
I remembered the words Mari mumbled to me when i became terrified by turbulence on the flight home.
"It's okay. No matter what happens in life, i promise you you'll be okay."

-2 days later-
It was a miserable monday. Part of me wished Marinette would walk through the classroom door but there was no sign of her.

"Anybody seen Marinette?" The teacher called, looking confused.
Gulping, Alya whispered just loud enough to hear, "She's...been missing. Nobody's heard from her since Friday. Not even her family."

"Oh...Why that's terrible..." Our teacher sighed, a sad look suddenly overcoming her face.

'Dead...' I thought, drumming my fingers on the desk.

"Woah, Adrien are you okay?!" Nino questioned concernedly, "You're really, really pale...Y-your arms are shaking."

I didn't respond, all I could do was stare at Mari's empty seat. Even Chloe wasn't herself, who knew she could actually have sympathy.

"What if she's gone for good?" Alya squeaked, dropping her pen.

'If only they knew...'

I ran out of the classroom and collapsed on the floor just outside.
"Hawkmoth...whoever the hell you are, wherever you are...You're going to pay!!" I yelled, sobbing until my eyes felt sore.
"I promised i'd never use this again but...For you, Marinette..."

I got out my miraculous and placed it on my finger.

"I have to. That was the last time Hawkmoth was ever going to hurt anybody."

Hiding behind a pillar as Plagg zipped about me, I took a deep breath.

"Adrien?"

Sorry...For the awaited chapter! I've been grounded lol...But here it finally is! Might not be worth the wait, though, haha...
