Chapter 16

-Adrien's POV-
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

I was hanging off of a cliff, wishing to finally fall.
"Let go of me!" I cried, wriggling about as I desperately tried to get her to let go of me.

"Do you think Marinette would of wanted you to do this?!"

"I am doing this Alya. Don't try and stop me. I lost the only girl i ever loved!" I yelled, still attempting to get her to let go.
"Come back up. Please. Mari would be heartbroken."

I climbed back up. "Well she wouldn't know, would she?! Marinette is DEAD."
The word dead hit me hard as a sudden wave of reality washed over me.
Mari wasn't coming back. For days, i've been filled with false hope that she wasn't really dead.

"Now leave me the hell alone."

Storming off, I felt sort of bad for how i spoke to her.
I guess I can finish what i started later.

When I finally returned home in the evening, drenched from the constant rain, I took my miraculous ring out of my drawer and placed it on my finger.
"Hawkmoth- my father...I hate him."

Removing the miraculous was difficult, but I had to put it behind me.

"Plagg you should just find someone else to to my job. I can't do it anymore. I just can't.." I sobbed, sliding my back down a wall and curling into a ball on the floor.

-2 days later-

It was easy to say i felt like crap. I hadn't been attending school, nor had I left the house.
Empty bottles of alcohol laid scattered around my room.
"M'lady...I miss you so much.." I wept, grabbing a bottle and throwing it at a wall in anger.

"What do I do, mother..?" I asked, looking outside into the starry sky.
"I'm fifteen, look at the state of me...I shouldn't be drinking alcohol at all, let alone this much...Please help..."

-1 week later-

- - - Nino's POV - - -

It's not like Adrien to miss almost two weeks of school. I know he was upset about Marinette, but I didn't know they were this close...
Come to think of it, I hadn't seen him at all.

Guess i'll just stop by his house.

Once I reached the front door, it instantly clicked that something wasn't right.
The door was unlocked, and the house seemed to be deserted.
"Adrien?" I called out, "Adriennnn?"

Strange.

I headed to his room, hoping and praying that he was in there.

The first thing I could see was shards of glass all over the floor and empty bottles.
Adrien was slumped on the floor, a hoodie on, tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

"Adrien?!"

I shook him and shook him, but he wasn't waking up.
I then sprayed water in his face, that instantly woke him.
"N-Nino?" He stuttered my name, "I haven't moved from this spot in...a few days at least..."
He had a big bottle of water next to him, at least he wasn't dehydrated.
"We need to get you out of here!" I insisted, trying to get him up.

-Adrien's POV-

It was useless. All I wanted was for Marinette to come back.
"Please, just leave me alone..."

"You're fifteen. Not eighteen. You cannot live all on your own. Miss Dupain-Cheng is outside waiting for you. You'll be staying there from now on. Once you've been to he hospital."

-At the hospital-

If there was one thing I didn't like, it would be hospitals. They poked me and prodded at me, flashed bright lights in my eyes, all sorts!
One thing was clear though, I was in love. I'm not giving up on her. If she's alive somewhere, I'll find her. And if she isn't...

I'll kill my father.
