Tails opened his eyes. He heard nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was as if the whole area had gone silent. Tails got up and looked around. His plane still sat as a pile of heaping metal. There was mud caked all over it. He searched it for any possible salvageable things. He was able to find a water bottle and that was it. He walked on top of a hill near the plane wreck. "Island bluff." He said recognizing the natural features of the beach. He walked down the hill towards the beach. His legs and arms ached. He kept walking. Just rolling hills and a few trees separated him and the beach. Rocks 8ft high stuck out all over with very sharp edges. No boat ever could make it through this area. Tails looked around taking in all the scenery. He began walking along the beach thinking of what to do next. The waves pushed up and down the beach. The little white crests falling over in a harmonic tune. "I have never seen Rainbow Falls that everyone talks about." He said to himself. He knew it was miles away but it was something to do and he had plenty of time. He kept walking along the beach, sometimes he would stop and let the waves brush sand on to his feet. He looked at the horizon. The sun peaking it's head over the ocean in a mixture of brilliant colors. A breeze blew the fox's fur making him shiver. He was going to walk this beach for at least another three or four miles. Then he would have to climb the mountain, it was dangerous but he didn't care. He noticed a little hermit crab Peeking out of the sand while a group of other ones crawled past. "Me too bud, me too." Tails started running. If he was going to be out here for long he better stay in shape. His stomach made a growling noise but he ignored it, to focused on getting to Rainbow Falls. " At least I could take a shower while I'm there." Tails told himself cheerfully. He continued to run. Running away from his friends, Running away from his secret, and running away from his past. Something crossed his mind though. Sonic. He missed the blue hedgehog so much. He couldn't go back though. He knew the hedgehog didn't feel the same for him as he did for Sonic. "Oh Sonic." Tails said out loud, not afraid if anyone could hear. "I'm so sorry it had to come to this." The wind started to pick up making the fox very chilly. The running was keeping him warm for the time being but it wouldn't forever. He had reached the forest were it met the beach in a transition of shrubbery. He could make out the mountain in the distance. "Still quite a few miles to go." He told himself frowning. He ran into the shrubbery where he would hope to find his way to Rainbow Falls. It was thick with greenery. Trees towered above him and vines touched the ground everywhere. It looked closer to a jungle then a forest. He could hear the sound of rushing water and followed the sound with his ears perked. He found a stream flowing quickly. "If I follow this up," he said, "then I can find exactly were the water fall is." He began going up river towards the waterfall. He could barely make out the sound of the water hitting the rocks and river below. "I'm almost there." He told himself. He grabbed a rock hoisting himself up a steep cliff side. He looked at were the water was coming from and it was magnificent. He ran over below it letting the water fall onto his fur. "The water is warm!" He said shocked. He noticed a little cave opening behind it and walked over laying down. "A nap sounds great." he thought thinking of all the running he did. He focused his hearing on the waterfall the sound of thousands of gallons of water hitting the river below. He closed his eyes and sighed at the surprising comfort of the wet warm rock floor. He quickly fell asleep in a trance.
