I sigh as I stare out the window. Shawn stands up from the couch and makes his way over to me, hugging me from behind.
"Whatcha thinking about?"
"It's just really bad out there," I frown.
Hurricane Katherine has hit Toronto, and Shawn and I are hiding out in our downtown condo. He went to the store before the storm hit to grab last minute food and supplies a few days ago, and the rain and winds have only gotten heavier since.
"I know, but it'll be over soon," he tries to reassure me, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the couch, "let's watch a movie or start a new tv show. Your pick."
I send him a small smile and shrug.
"I don't really care what we watch. You pick instead."
He asks me if I'm sure, and I just nod and become lost in thought while Shawn, very enthusiastically, turns on Captain America: The First Avenger.
"Hey, you okay?" Shawn asks, nudging my shoulder.
"Hm?"
He chuckles, putting his arm around me and pulling a gigantic fuzzy blanket over us. "I asked if you were okay."
"Oh... yeah, I'm fine. I just don't like thunderstorms, and hurricanes are like 1000 times worse."
"Aw, don't worry! We're safe in here, and I've got cuddly arms for you if the lights go out," Shawn says, kissing my cheek.
I laugh and snuggle closer to his chest. "Okay."
"I love youuuu," he singsongs.
"I love you too," I smile, pulling the blanket to my chin and focusing on Shawn's breathing.
