Strange Beings

Chapter 6

I were to turn 15 the next month but I wouldn’t call it a celebration…because…something happened…

Something terrible…I don’t want to remember…please wake up.

[Third person] (mentioned for the comfort of some people)

Zade splashed a bucket of cold water on Tegan's face. She coudn't realize where she was, it took a moment for her to get used everything around her.

Was that a dream? It seemed so real.

“You were screaming and I couldn’t sleep.” Zade stated.

She looked outside the window.

Dawn.

If it were usual times, Tegan would get so angry that she would not talk to Zade for a week. But now she was the most thankful person on Earth. This was why she loved Zade. He always knew the right thing to do. Whenever he was in action it was destined to be for good.

“Thanks a lot,” She muttered acting groggy. She wasn’t groggy at all. She was dripping wet for God sake.

“Don’t mention it.” He said that and left.

She got up and took a shower and got dressed up for just another day.

Hmm…5am….The guys will wake up at least at 8. I can make a nice breakfast.

She first made a chocolate sponge cake, which is the easiest and least time taking. It burned. She kept it on the oven for much more time than it needed.

She made another sponge cake, vanilla this time. Because, let’s face it, it’s the only thing she knows how to bake. This one was okay.

Will came in and sniffed the air. He then looked at the mess and made a face. He came up to her and smelled the cake.

“It smells like eggs.” He said.

“It does? hmm...just maybe…maybe…it’s because we add eggs?” sarcasm alert.

“No no when you’re baking a cake it should never smell like eggs! Let’s make another one,” He said.

Will was not a very good cook. But one can tell that he was better than Tegan. The best cook was Zade who cooked only in special occasions when the others begged him to.

They were done. The cake looked good.

Others came in, all dressed up, Ace for college, Zade for school and Jay for work. Yes he had to grow up fast. Somebody had to pay the bills. He started working as a salesperson, which was a good profession for him. The women would buy anything he’d ask them to buy. Oh he’s so gorgeous I don’t want that smile to be replaced with a frown, They would think.

“Tegan could never bake a not burned cake like this. I think it’s Will’s work.” Zade said.

Will smiled proudly and took a bow.

Tegan, however makes a gesture so as to strangle Zade. Will stopped her at the right moment.

“Cool it Teg. Baby-boy’s just telling the truth,” Will said still triumphant.

Zade hadn't notcied a thing but continued eating the cake. Then he stopped and said with a  thoughtful face, “Hmmm…..only Will can add this much sugar. God I can get diabetes.”

“I’LL KILL HIM!!” Will said in a loud British voice.

Tegan actually held him behind. Then in a cool but gleeful tone she said, “Cool it Willy. Baby-boy’s just telling the truth!”
