I decided to wear a black and blue flare dress and black stiletto heels. I wanted to look as formal as possible.
There was a knock on my bedroom door
"Come in" I said
Alexander came in looking very suave
"Wow. Don't you look handsome" I said
"Thank you," he said as he mockingly adjusted his collar and I giggled "you ready?"
"...Yeah..." I said unsurely looking in the mirror
"You look great," he said
"I look great like your family will like me or like I look like the help?"
"You look great as in we have to go or we'll be late"
I sighed but grabbed my purse and headed out.
The wedding was for Patrick Lawrence and Alexander's eldest cousin Elena. Elena was the daughter of the Kings oldest sister. The reception hall was filled with ostentatious guest.
We spotted Louis and Lorraine already seated at a table so, we joined them. Once the guest took their seats the reception started. King Frederick and Queen Violet entered, the parents of the bride and groom then the newlywed couple entered and everyone cheered and congratulated them.
"Congratulations," Alexander said as he greeted his cousin and the groom
"Thank you, Alex!" She said as she hugged him "You must be Zara" Elena smirked "Alexander has been talking a lot about you and so has the rest of the world"
"Yeah I'm just trying to get use it," I said
"I would run if I were you," Patrick said as he slightly chuckled
"Can you not scare her away?" Alexander said playfully
"Of course not, I just have to 'warm up' to her first as the Americans say," Elaine said and I furrowed my eyebrows. The fuck did that mean?
I met Alexander's aunts, uncle, and grandmother. I met his first, second, third cousins then first second and third cousins once removed or something like that. It was just a lot of family ok. We lastly greeted the King and Queen.
"Are you enjoying the celebration?" The King asked
"Yes, I've never been to such an occasion."
"Well I'm glad you could join us," the King said sincerely
"Thank you," I said. The King was such a nice person. He is known as being one of the kindest leaders in the world but I couldn't figure why his sons were so against him.
We sat down with Lorraine and an intoxicated Prince Louis. Lorraine snatched the drink from his grasp "You've had enough" she said sternly
"It's only my second glass" he slurred as he tried to balance in his seat
"Glass? You mean second bottle" Alexander spat as he looked at the two wine bottles
"Lets go for a stroll in the garden" Lorraine said as she smiled a little embarrassed. She gently took Louis by the hand and lead him out of the reception hall.
"Is he always like that?" I asked
"sadly.." Alexander drifted as he took a sip of wine. "are you ok?" Alexander asked
"Yes, Thank you for inviting me and introducing me to your whole family tree," I said and he snickered
"Alexander!" a voice called
I looked up to see a blond haired, hazel eyed young woman with a skin-tight black dress that showed plenty of cleavage
"Aria, how are you?" Alexander said as he stood up to greet her. Aria Taylor was his longest and last relationship. She's a model but with her features, of course, she would be, her jawline structure is something people could only dream about having, her body was slender and lean and her legs were miles long she definitely didn't come here to play. They looked happy to be reunited
"This is Zara" Alexander introduced as I stood up
"Zara, nice to finally meet you. You are just as beautiful as Alexander described" Aria said. The last sentence made me cringe inside. "I just knew Elaine was going to marry Patrick," she said averting all her attention back to my boyfriend "remember when she brought him to the thanksgiving service at St Paul's and your grandmother insisted that she be seated next to him"
They both laughed as Aria touched his arm "Yes and Stewart wanted him to be escorted out" he said
I stood there with a fake smile plastered on my face like an idiot while they reminisced.
"We must catch up when I come back to London, all of us even you, Zara"
I wanted to roll my eyes so bad.
Alexander held my hand "Yes all of us. It would be great"
"Ciao" Aria waved off
"Well you two are very friendly," I said
"Well yes, we grew up together...don't feel jealous. We're just friends"
"I'm not, she was just very touchy with you," I said as fixed his tie
We left the reception around 2 am. I really thought the party was going be a bunch of stiff people standing around while Beethoven's Symphony number 5 played in the background but they played all types of music. Shit, I ain't know royals can party like that.
