The next day, Alexander and I were on way to Brixton, Balham, Tooting and Lewisham in England.

I looked out the car window see to people lined up along the streets. They were all excited and had smiles on their faces.

"Whatever happened between you and Violet-" Alexander started

"Nothing happened, I told you that like 12 times last night"

"But it didn't seem like nothing. After the banquet, you were quiet the whole night. If she said something to you, you have to let me know-"

"Alexander, nothing is wrong I'm fine," I said as I placed my hand over his "I'm fine"

He looked me unsurely then the car door opened and we got out. Alexander took my hand and we walked and waved to greet the crowd. People were crying, pulling me left and right, and shouting my name, it was a bit crazy. I actually loved shaking people hands or hugging them I weirdly enjoyed it. It allowed me to connect with other people.

"You're so special," a woman said as she held my hand

"Thank thank you for being the first black princess. I'd never thought I'd live to see the day. You're so beautiful" An elderly woman said which churned my stomach inside.

"Your Highnesses!" a woman greeted at the entrance of the school "I'm Amanda Greene and will be assisting you today," she said as she curtseyed to Alexander than to me. That was the first time someone curtsied to me and I don't know how I felt about it.

"So this program focuses on developing research skills for underrepresented youth," Amanda said as she led us to a laboratory filled with students intensely working on projects

I sat at one table filled with girls of all shades of melanin while Alexander branched off to another part of the laboratory

"You're the princess?" a girl asked

"Well not yet but yes" I replied

"I've never seen a princess that looks like you before" a girl chimed in

"Really? What do princesses look like?" I asked

"They look white with long blonde hair"

"What? You guys are watching too much Disney. There are lots of Princesses that come in all shades and sizes"

"So I can be a princess too?" a girl asked

"Of course but only if you really want to. Its a lot of work"

"You look like my older sister," another girl said and the whole table including myself laughed.

"You know what you guys are doing right now is so important. A lot of research done doesn't really relate to black and brown people so I'm glad that guys are finding cures and treatments to all types of diseases and disorders" I said and they all agreed "What's your project about?" I asked a girl to my left who was a little shy compared to the others.

"My project is on finding a way to stop crime in Brixton"

"Thats a very good one. What made you think about that topic?"

"My brother died a few months ago. He was stabbed while walking home from school"

"Oh no," I said empathetically "What's your name?"

"Jemma," she said

"Well Jemma, I lost my brother to senseless violence also"

"Did you cry?" she asked

"Yes... a lot and it's ok to cry but then I realized that maybe I can help other people too, just like what you're doing"

Jemma smiled then gave me the biggest hug.

After a long day, we went back to Kensington Palace.

"Where are you going?" I asked Alexander who was changing his shoes

"A briefing. We leave for Belize in a few days"

"Belize? But the cake lady is supposed to be coming soon" I said

"Oh she already knows," he said as he kissed my cheek and darted toward the door. I watched him leave. I thought planning this wedding was something we were supposed to do together. I know he had duties but this should be number 1. We were getting married in 3 months yet I felt like I was going through this alone. How do I tell him he needs to spend more time with me? But doesn't that sound arrogant especially because he's a prince and I have to understand that he has to do appearances and tours in order to justify his right as heir to the throne.

A few moments later there was a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" I asked

"The cake designer," the voice said. I opened the door and to my complete surprise, it was Aria. Please let this be a joke

"Aria?"

"Hello, darling," she said gleefully too gleefully "Just set the samples on the dining table" she instructed as three men brought in boxes of cakes

"You're the making the cake?"

"Well, my cousin is. She owns a multimillion pound bakery service. I just decided to make this a personal delivery"

I wanted to slam the door in her face.

"Alexander told me he won't be joining us but I already know his favorite french vanilla cake with buttercream icing," she said as she smirked

I pursed my lips together as I sat down in front of the dozen sample of cakes. I wasn't even in excited anymore.

"Look, I know we don't know each other very well but I really came here to talk to you"

"About?" I asked as I began to stuff my face with cake

"About... Alexander"

I put the plate down and looked at her. She had my undivided attention "Go on" I said

She sighed "You don't know the rules-"

"Ya know everyone keeps saying that. Yes, I don't know the 'rules' so why doesn't anyone teach me?"

"Because it's not that easy, you have be raised in it. I already come from a background that knows the rules... Alexander is very worried about you"

"How do you know?"

"Because he confides in me. He's very troubled about how you're adapting to this new life, as he should" she said. I didn't know whether to believe her or not.

"I'm adapting just fine, you could tell him that" I spat

"Are you really? Are you prepared to be a wife, to start producing heirs immediately after your wedding, putting your personality and feelings to the side and dedicating your whole life to this monarchy?"

I cut my eyes at her "Well I thought that was what I am doing and what makes you so sure you are?"

"I know I am. I'm a much better fit" she said as she placed her hands on her hips

"Then why isn't the ring on your finger," I said as flashed my ring in her face

"You may have the ring but you don't even have the look or appeal to be a princess let alone a Queen. I've been with Alexander for his whole life and know everything there is to know. Plus I don't have riotous family members, an immigrant mother or volunteer for juvenile delinquents, blackie! " she spat and that was the last straw.

I saw red...
I grabbed the a slice of cake and tossed it at her. Bullseye!

She screamed which caused Anita, Paul, and Carrie to bust into the room. She took a slice of cake and threw it back at me which grazed the side of my face. I was heated, I didn't even think and grabbed two slices of cake. She wanted a cake fight I was going to give it to her but I was whisked away by Paul's burly arms.

"You'll regret that, Trollop!" she hollered as Anita escorted her out

"Yeah don't let the door hit your thin lipped ass on the way out!!" I hollered back.
