-5 months later-
I was more than homesick. I missed my mother, Jaya and Troy. Alexander hasn't been around lately, he's been so busy preparing or King Frederick's Silver jubilee. I think this was right time to go home.
Alexander and I arrived at the airport.
"You really didn't have to drive me to the airport" I said
"Of course I did, I wanted to see you off" he said sincerely
"But paparazzi will see"
"Its fine" he said as he got out the car. He got my suitcase of the trunk
"Try not to miss me so much" I said jokingly and pecked his lips
He chuckled lightly "Call when you land"
"I will" I said then headed inside the airport
****
I was back in New Jersey I never thought much of it until now.
my mom picked me up from the airport and I leaped into her arms
"I missed you"
"I missed you too...You got fat. They got good food over there?" she asked as she chuckled slightly. Oh how could I not miss my mother's straightforwardness
I shook my head "Yes the best... its like I'm eating in restaurant every night"
"Thats good..." she smiled
We drove to the house.
"Hi grandma" I said as I gave her the warmest hug
"My strong girl you look beautiful" she said as she smiled. My aunt, Cece (pronounced Seh-Seh) then trotted down the stairs with shorts and a crop top. lawd she always tried so hard to be young
"My favorite neice" she said as she hugged me
"Your only niece. Nice legs" I said
"Thank you. I got a new Zumba instructor and he's fine" she said
"Where are my cousins?"
"Sidya and Dalien are at soccer practice and Eugene is taking a nap" my aunt said
"avez-vous faim?" my grandmother asked in French and I knew what that meant 'are you hungry' one of the first words I learned in French. I spoke French a lot when I was younger but as I grew I didn't keep up with it
"I've seen you all over the news, You're all they like to talk about, they have documentaries and movies coming out. You are a superstar. I'm just glad those paparazzi people don't know where I live" my aunt said
"Someone stopped by yesterday?" my mother interjected
"Who?" I asked as a hot plate of plate was placed in front of me
"Your father..."
I dropped my folk and looked at her "What he say?"
"He's been trying to talk to you"
"Pfft. Now that I'm on the cover of magazines he wants to meet with me. He's dead to me"
"I understand, I just wanted to let you know"
"I appreciate you telling me but I just refuse to deal with him"
Me and my mother never really talked about my father much. He never tried to contact me after he left her. He was the true definition of a deadbeat dad
"Jaya's here!" I exclaimed as I ran outside and gave her the biggest hug. Aww I missed her.
She was glowing. "Yes inches!" I said as I ran my fingers through her luscious black hair
"Yeah ya know, because I have an actual career now"
I smiled and hugged her again
"Hey Jaya" my mom said as she hugged her"I saw the painting you sold to Priyanka Chopra. You're doing very well." my aunt said
"What?! You're painting for celebrities now?" I asked
"Well..yeah" she said modestly
"I'm so proud of you!" I exclaimed
******
We went to a seafood restaurant, one with dim lighting. No one knew I was here except for close family and friends and I wanted to keep it that way.
"I missed you. It gets so boring being stuck in the ivory tower all day" I said
"I missed you too. It feels weird without you being her all the time" Jaya said as she giggled
"You aint miss me" Troy said as he took off his shades
"AHH troy!!" I exclaimed as I got up to hug him then looked a his flamboyant attire "oh snap Mr Renner"
"Yes thats me" Troy said as he posed jokingly
"So whats up? I haven't seen you in months. Tell me everything please" I asked once we sat down
Troy laughed "Ok well I started working for Karl Lagerfeld and its my dream job! I love it so much."
"Aww. For real!" I exclaimed but then calmed down remembering we were in a restaurant
"Yes! Girl. He said I can shadow him for New York fashion week but I still got my designs on the side"
"You're gonna let me peek right?" I asked
"Of course. You're the main reason I'am where I'am"
"Stop" I said waving him off
"No foreal. I really owe you my life. You didn't have to wear my designs and I saw you wearing my dress at a recent event, which is sold out by the way. Boom!"
"I mean if I had to wear designer clothing. It would be yours"
