I was pacing all over the room. I was about to have a panic attack. The royal family is what I've seen on TV other then them being the most powerful family in the whole world I knew nothing. I tried to research them but it was WAY too much information to take in.
There was a knock at the door, probably the assistant I needed her big time.
"Good afternoon Ma'am," Carrie said with a big smile "How are you this fine Tuesday?"
"I'm fine" but I really wasn't
"Splendid," she said then laid a dress across my bed. The dress was simple and blue. I glanced at the tag it read Alexander McQueen, that was enough to almost cause me to faint. Some more women came in with other beauty stuff.
"This is Maria, Ariana, and Nancy" Carrie introduced "They are here to help style you today"
Maria was a red-headed woman, who looked the oldest of three. Ariana looked biracial, she had curly hair and freckles all over her face and Nancy was blond.
Nancy looked at my nails "Nude or clear nail polish only ma'am" she said as she vigorously removed the teal nail polish off my nails with a cotton ball
Maria pulled a tape measure around my waist and then she did my height
"Do you think we need to alter it?" Nancy asked
"Just at the waist it should take just a couple of minutes" Maria replied.
"You have very beautiful skin, I don't even think we to put foundation," Ariana said began to powder my face
"No, I don't either. She looks elegant" Maria said as she began to pull my hair into a slick bun. I didn't really know what to think of this. I've never been fitted for a dress or had a makeover. It felt like the princess diaries
"Do the shoes fit ma'am?" Nancy asked
"Um it's a little tight," I said honestly them things were cutting off my circulation
"We need a bigger size" Nancy hollered and Ariana opened a box and handed her the same shoe in a different size. So it's like that.
"Is this better ma'am?" she asked
"Yes its perfect," I said
They dressed me from head to toe. Hair laid, face fresh and a regal outfit.
"You look lovely ma'am," Carrie said
"Thank you. You guys did a great job too" I smiled
The dress was a little loose for my liking but I'm guessing it was the way it's supposed to be.
"Ok, so there are things you will need to know. When in the car, sit as close to the door as possible, then place both hands behind you as you turn with ankles and knees together to place your feet outside the car. Then, when you stand and exit with a quick "pop."
"Ok"
"Always curtsey when you greet the King and Queen,
only speak when you are spoken to
Do not sit or begin to start eating until his Majesty has done so,
Hold your wine glass at the stem
Make sure your knife stays in your right hand and your fork in your left
Never touch his or her majesty,
Only shake hands if his majesty offers it,
Never leave the event before a royal, unless special permission has been granted"
"Wow...this feels like Emilio's," I said as I lightly chuckled. Carrie gave a confused look "My job when celebrities come we-it's not important"
There was a knock at the door
"Come in," I said. It was the Prince, he dressed in a suit. He looked snackable
The women curtsied then left us in the room alone. "You look....very...simple," he said
"Oh my God. I knew it. I look like I'm going to Easter Sunday at church"
"No no, I'm just not used to you looking so precise but you look nice"
"Just nice? This dinner better be worth it" I said fixing the scratchy pantyhose rubbing against my skin
He chuckled "did Carrie go over the protocol?"
"Yes, she did. It's nothing I don't know how to do already"
"Ok"
We walked arm and arm to the car
