Not My Day

I was sitting in bed. I reeeally did not want to go anywhere today. I didn't fall asleep until four, and now it's five-thirty. I was too busy thinking about Namjoon. Love is an asshole. Except when it's in my asshole.

Another one if my alarms went off. I groaned. I dragged my sleepy ass out of bed and my feet hit the cold carpet.

I grabbed my phone and started playing music, maybe that'll help. I almost fell asleep on the toilet, and great! No toilet paper, today is a whiskey in my coffee day.

I made myself some eggs and bacon in an attempt to make myself feel better.

After a shower, and before I slid into my car, I grabbed a bottle of whiskey. Jungkook wouldn't be joining me today because I wasn't technically on duty this morning. I drove to the closest Starbucks, avoiding potholes lining the entire street.

I walked into the nearly empty shop. "Hello, may I please have a blueberry coffee."

The girl leaned against the counter, reviling skin under the apron, "Sure thing~"

I rolled my eyes, the struggle.

A few minutes later she came back a strawberry flavoured coffee.

Fuck

"I said blueberry," I said plainly

She batted her eyelashes, I showed her the receipt, her number was written on the back.

For fuck's sake.

After a few minutes of minor arguing, she remade the drink.

Finally!

I picked up my drink and she leaned over the counter and tried to whisper sweet nothings in my ear.

I looked her dead in the eyes, "I have a boyfriend."

She gave me a rather grotesque look, "Oh."

God, people these days.

At last, I was in my car. I poured a few drops of cheap whiskey in my coffee and took a long sip, from the kinked straw. God fucking dammit! Coffee spilt all over my clean white shirt.

I flipped the straw and started my drive to Jimin's.

I was halfway to Jimin's when a truck beside me cut me off and hit the car in front of me.

Why now!?

I pulled over and the guy in front of me got out and yelled at the driver who hit him.

A girl got out the passenger door, they were too far from me to see their faces, the driver also got out and a yelling match ensued, I heard the couple's crying baby through my open window.

God! The mess was obscuring the entire road! Absolutely no way to get through.

I tried to back up, but the several cars behind me prevented me from doing so. I let my head fall roughly on to my steering wheel and let out a soft scream. Why today! The one day when I just wanted to hang out with my best friend and his girlfriend...

I laid back in my seat, pulling my keys out of the ignition and closed my eyes. A harsh knock rapped on my car door. I looked up and a police officer stared back at me.

"Sir, we are going to start moving the traffic along." He said.

I nodded and restarted my car. A few seconds later, he waved me through. I gave him a polite nod as I turned onto the highway.

The long stretch of grey road, my car bounced in the potholes, sloshing the slushy road salt-snow mix

Why couldn't this case be a simple murder case? Or maybe a theft? Or better yet, someone was committing adultery? But no, it had to fall in line with the unsolvable case...

About fifteen minutes later I pulled up the long driveway beside Jimin's house. No one outside. I walked up the pathway and knocked on the door.

A crash sounded behind the door. I raised my mental guard: Instinct. A frantic Jimin flung the door open, catching me by surprise and I stumbled backwards a bit.

"Hyung, please come in," Jimin said, out of breath.

Cautiously I followed Jimin inside. A shrill scream sounded from the kitchen. I drew my gun...
