Chapter 15- The First Mission

No POV

"Are you in position Akai"

"Yes sir"

"And what have I told you about calling me sir?"

"..."

"Really?!"

"I'm sure it is just a problem with the connection, sir. I mean, with the storm going on and everything."

"Not you too Takagi"

"Haha, sorry Shinichi"

"*sigh Whatever, Jodei-san where are the guards?"

"Right on schedule sir"

"Great, ready team?"

Yes sirs were heard through the com system that they had set up.

"Then let's get started. Akai, you know what to do".

Akai's POV

As the camera went to the left, Akai snuck past it to the blind-spot. Once he made sure he couldn't be seen, he took off his backpack. He saw that the electrical box was the same design as when he was working there. They really should have changed them he thought with a smile. He then touched underneath the box until he felt where a button should be. He applied pressure to this point, and the electric box door flew open. He viewed the wires that layed in front of him, and, like most Black Organization electrical boxes, all of the wires inside were red. Luckily, when Akai was a part of the organization they taught you how to disable bombs, computers, and electrical boxes. The irony that the organization taught him the skills that will help him destroy them, brought a small smirk to Akai's mouth. After finding the correct wire that he had to cut, he reached into the backpack, that he had swung over one of his shoulders, and got out some wire cutters. He then proceeded to cut the wire that will cause a black out in the building. As the wire was severed, he saw that the light in the window above him shut off.

"The electricity has been shut down sir"

"Excellent, Heiji do you see any sign they know what we are doing?"

"Nothing, the lights I can see are all out sir"

"How about you Megure, see anything?"

"No sir, everything looks good"

"Okay then, Akai can you enter to see that everything is good?"

"Yes sir"

"While he is doing that, Sato, Takagi, and Jodie get in position and wait for Akai's signal that you are okay to enter. Megure and Heiji keep a look out for anything that might cause us to abort. Lastly, Ran and m-Yukiko be ready to retrieve Akai if needed. Everyone got their assignments?"

"yes sir"

As Akai listened to the conversation, he couldn't help but be reminded how great of a leader Shinichi is. So much so that he wonders that if he is this good as a teenager, he wonders how he will be when he gets more experience leading.

Following his orders, Akai climbs on top of the electrical box to get the boost he needs to reach the window above him. He lightly push against the widow to see with pleasant surprise that the blackout also took away the electrical locks that are usually located on the organization's windows. Under the cover of the storm, Akai entered the building, and the effect of the blackout was almost instantaneous. Feet were shuffling across the floor, papers were going everywhere, screams were being thrown at each other trying to figure out what happened, and things being knocked over in the panic. Simply put, it was absolute chaos.

"What do you see Akai?"

"They are acting like chickens who just had their head cut off sir"

Though he couldn't see his face right now, Akai could just see Shinichi's face trying to contain his laughter at that visual. Especially, if you put little lab coats on the chickens bodies and glasses on their severed head.  Or maybe that was only his type of humor.
