The next day Oromis met with the others, Anu waited for the dragons to fly off and give them room before lecturing Oromis about using magic.

“Magic came to us from our dragons, but they can’t use magic whenever they want like we can. But there is a draw back, the harder the magic you use the more energy it takes. If you use too much energy you could die.” Anu told him.

“So how do you know your limits?” Oromis asked.

“By using a simple spell… of course the more you practice and grow up, the stronger you become.”

“Which spell would you like me to use?”

“Well there’s a lot of trees so how about the word for branch.”

“Kvister.” Oromis said causing a branch to grow towards them.

When he released the flow of magic the branch stopped growing and he turned to face them. Toron nodded in approval along with Orelel.

“How do you feel?” Anu asked. “Still have enough energy?”

            “Of course.” Oromis replied.

            “Good.”

Oromis gave him a confused look as Jacques stepped forward and made a stone rise in the air.

“I want you to stop this rock from hitting you.” Jacques explained before sending the rock flying at him.

Oromis ducked out of the way before looking at him in shock.

“Brother you should’ve told him what to say first.” Toron scolded.

“Say letta next time.” Jacques sighed. “Stenr rïsa.”

The stone rose into the air once again and Jacques made it float over to him so it was level with his head. Oromis watched the stone carefully as Jacques made it fly towards him once again; he shouted for it to stop but it didn’t instead he was hit in the face.

            “Try again.” Emeril encouraged him.

Oromis nodded and waited for the stone to fly at him again, after getting hit throughout multiple attempts to stop it, Jacques was shaking his head impatiently; he finally managed to get it.

“Well done.” Jacques congratulated. “Now light that tree on fire using the word brisingr.”

Oromis nodded his head, “Brisingr kvister.”

The branch burst into flames and burned to ashes, Orelel complimented his ability and started showing him some other simple spells while Jacques took a break to check with his dragon, Styx, who had landed nearby.

“Where are the others?” Jacques asked Styx.

They are still flying around doing aerial combat, but Sakura and Spectre are wondering when we get to fight with riders.

“Tell them I’ll discuss it with the others.”

Styx snorted and flew off, causing a gust of wind to almost knock him down. Jacques walked back over to where the others were still practicing their magic.

“Styx and the other dragons want to fight while we ride them.” He informed them.

“Do you know when the saddles will be done?” Emeril asked.

“They were done yesterday.” Orelel told her.

“Then we can do aerial combat with our dragons tomorrow.” Anu decided.

“Can Glaedr carry me?” Oromis asked.

            “Of course he can.”

“Then it’s decided we actually learn to fight on dragon back tomorrow.” Emeril laughed happily. “We haven’t been able to train with them for days!”
