Jacques finished showing Oromis how to saddle his dragon before getting onto Styx’s back; she spread her black wings and took off to where the others were already flying. Glaedr followed them and roared, Oromis held on tighter as his dragon did a spin in the air, the others laughed as Glaedr straightened out. Oromis glared at them in embarrassment but had to admit that had been fun.

“Okay today we’ll be learning how to fight while our dragons are flying around and turning like we just saw Glaedr demonstrate.” Anu announced.

“We will partner up and spar with swords only today.” Jacques cut in. “Toron will be with Orelel, Oromis you’re with Anu, and I’m with Emeril.”

Anu cleared his throat and glanced at him. “Actually I have to go see Queen Dellanir about, uh… something.”

“ You better hurry back, all of us need to train.” Toron reminded him. “…Oh, and try not to do anything to upset her.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it, Rider’s promise. Vel eïnradhin iet ai Shur’tugal.” Anu replied before making Sakura fly off.

Jacques waited until he was out of their training area before turning to face the others. “Okay, looks like we have an uneven number now… Emeril you can train with Oromis, I’ll be the judge.”

“That’s my brother for you, lazy.” Toron laughed.

Jacques glared at him. “I’m only judge for one round smart one.”

Emeril ignored the brother’s argument and made Pyra fly over towards Glaedr and Oromis, she took out her red sword and waited for the younger rider to make his first move.

“Dive down, then circle them as fast as you can.” Oromis instructed Glaedr.

They won’t be able to keep up. Glaedr replied while smirking mentally.

Emeril watched as Glaedr dove and started circling them from below.

“Pyra lets show them some flames.” Emeril commanded.

Pyra flew up and watched the golden dragon circle for a few seconds before blasting a large red flamethrower at Glaedr, he roared as it hit his tail and stopped circling. Oromis made Glaedr fly up until they were level with Emeril and Pyra, he was a little frustrated that his plan failed but made a new one up and made his dragon fly straight towards Pyra.

I’ll barrel roll then kick them. Pyra told her rider. Hang on tight.

Emeril held on tighter as Pyra rolled over in the air and kicked Glaedr in the side, afterwards she used her tail to smack him in the face. Glaedr roared in pain and anger, he was getting ready to open Oromis up to attack his opponent again but stopped when Jacques’ dragon Styx let out a large blast of flames.

“First round is over! The winners are Emeril and Toron!” Jacques announced.

“But I wasn’t finished yet!” Oromis protested.

“We don’t want to seriously injure ourselves or our dragons. Look at Glaedr he needs some rest.”

Oromis grumbled but led his dragon away from the practice area and over to where Jacques was, Styx flew her rider over to Toron while Orelel and Emeril started to spar. Glaedr noticed Oromis’ bad mood and turned his head to look at him.

We’ll learn from this… next time we will be better. Glaedr assured him.

            “I hope so.”

Oromis watched them fighting, Orelel seemed to be beating Emeril but Jacques and Toron were evenly matched as their dragons intercepted each others blows and let out streams of fire. He heard the sound of wing beats behind him and turned around, Eragon, Kuthian, and Anu were flying quickly towards them.

“Guys stop the others are here!” Oromis shouted.

They slowly stopped and flew over as a group to meet the others.

“We’re leaving, now.” Eragon told them. “Kuthian and I looked at the island and agreed to use it as

“But why are we leaving so suddenly? Can’t we say goodbye to our families?” Emeril asked.

“No… Queen Dellanir has uh, banished, Dragon Riders from coming here.” Anu replied awkwardly.

“What did you do?” Jacques shouted.

“S- she asked for my hand in m-marriage… I said I couldn’t because I’d been too busy at the moment and… well… yeah she banished us.”

Toron glared at him. “Great so this is your fault. You said you wouldn’t do anything to upset her!”

“I didn’t upset her, I made her extremely mad.”

Toron and Jacques looked like they were about to attack him but Kuthian got in the way. “Let’s not waste energy and daylight fighting each other and just leave already.”

Jacques kept a cold glare aimed at Anu, “Fine with me.”
