"Yes. You've had happen what so many of us wanted happened to us." Charlemagne said. "You got adopted by the Carter's."
I laughed along agreeing.
"But how did all that happen?" DJ Envy asked.
"Y'all want the whole story? How much time we got?" I ask...
Beyoncé looked over at Blue sleeping. She was praying Kodie wouldn't wake her up.
"Maaaaa!!!"
"Oh my God." Beyoncé groaned to herself before she got up to find Kodie.
Beyoncé cracked her door and went to Kodie's room. She wasn't there.
"Kodie!"
"In here!" She yelled from the closet.
Beyoncé walked in the closet where Kodie was on the ground with her suitcases.
"Yeah?"
"Can I go-"
"No. Your dad is flying in so we can go to dinner."
"Oh yeah." She said. "But I was meaning to ask you when you go back overseas can I stay on dad's tour?"
"Why you don't wanna come with me?" She asked.
"I don't like the food over there." Kodie said. "Plus I need to reevaluate this music thing."
"What you mean?" Beyoncé asked sitting on the floor.
"Ma, it's not working." She said sadly. "I mean it's cool but me just rapping ain't cutting it for kids my age."
"But what about Make Up? That was getting views."
"Still Ma." Kodie said sadly.
This is what Beyoncé was talking about. Kodie still had not completely found her sound and she knew that timing was everything and it wasn't Kodie's time yet.
"Okay. How about we try it my way." Beyoncé said.
Kodie looked at her. "Is this an I told you so moment?"
"No baby. It's not, I promise it's not." Beyoncé said. "Now with me it's gonna take some time."
"How much time?" Kodie asked.
"I can't say but I promise when it's done you gonna be where you wanna be or close to it."
Kodie looked at her and thought.
"So I'm signed or no?"
Beyoncé took a deep breath.
"If I sign you to Parkwood you gonna have to work and no excuses. Your school work online will need to be done by one o'clock everyday and I'm gonna need you in someone's studio by three everyday." She said." You are gonna have a schedule and when I mean business that's what I mean and no whining to your daddy if something doesn't go your way."
"Okay."
"Kodie-"
"No Ma, I mean it." She said. "I did it my way and I saw that it didn't work the way I wanted it to. I'm ready to do it your way."
"You sure? Cause once you sign that contract that's it."
"I'm sure Ma." Kodie said.
"Alright then. Welcome to Parkwood." Beyoncé said smiling.
