Chapter 22

Atlanta, GA

Kodie sat in one of the dressing rooms backstage recording. She didn't want to see the show that night. After seeing it night after night she wanted a break.

"Baby you should take this love, I swear this shit ain't prescription

She don't understand why I'm on the road and not with her

Beyoncé watched her daughter record and also saw and heard the pain. She knew her daughter missed Skye.

She finally made her presence known and Kodie looked at her. She removed her headphones and stopped the music.

"You okay?" Beyoncé asked.

"Yeah, why?" She asked.

Beyoncé sat down and looked at her. "Because you don't sound okay."

Kodie sighed. "I miss her."

"I know."

"But she broke up with me so I'm not asking her to get back with me or anything. That's her loss."

"Baby, don't be like that." Beyoncé said. "You love that girl."

"I do but it is what it is." She said shrugging. "I didn't break up with myself. Right now I'm just gonna be focused on my music and me."

"Okay." She said putting her in ear in. "Wish me luck?"

"You don't need it. You Beyoncé." Kodie said smiling and Beyoncé looked at her. "Damn, aight. Luck."

Beyoncé smiled before kissing her forehead and leaving out to do the show.

Kodie stayed back and finished her record. Her other siblings were in Chicago with their mother and her younger siblings were back at the hotel with their nannies.

After the show had gone underway and was about to come to a close Kodie decided to watch from the screen in the back.

She stood backstage with a couple people. She could actually see the stage and some fans. Her parents were finishing up Ape Shit. She had to admit On The Run II is probably her most fun tour.

She saw her parents coming off stage so she started smiling and clapping with others until she saw something. Her grin turned into a frown.

"Mama! Aye! Get the fuck out the way!" Kodie yelled running towards her parents but was yanked up by security.

They didn't know what was going on. They turned around and saw a man but very quickly he was tackled my security and the dancers.

They were moved quickly by security.

"Aye! Get off me! Mama! Daddy!" Kodie yelled in the arms of security.

"Hey, let her down. It's okay." Jay said as they ran over.

The security let Kodie down and she mugged him as she jogged over to her parents.

"Are you okay?" Kodie asked. "Did he touch you? You good?"

"Kodie, calm down." Beyoncé said grabbing her face. "Breath in and out okay."

Kodie started breathing in and out to calm down. Beyoncé knew exactly what to do. Kodie has seen people jump on stage and try to touch her mom inappropriately before and she acted the same way.
