The Interview

Chapter 21

"Let me see your hands!" Kodie yelled while fans put their hands up. "I got one song left."

Kodie was performing in Berlin at the Bread & Butter pop up.

They sadly awed. "Yeah, I know but who's going to see On The Run tomorrow night?"

The crowd yelled. "Yeah, imma be there too."

"Okay, last song. Hands up!" She said and the beat started.

She ended her set by adding a new song she started performing here and there. "End Like That" was definitely making the album.

After receiving a towel from Donya to wipe the sweat off her face she started taking pictures with fans.

She finally got to head to the green room where Winter and Seven waited. Chance opted out to stay with her parents.

For the past two weeks things were sailing smoothly. Yvette had started out in the rehab already and Kodie made sure the kids talked to their mother everyday.

"Good show Kodie." Seven said standing as he grabbed her backpack.

"Thanks." She said. "Y'all hungry or anything? We can order room service back at the hotel."

"Yeah, that's fine." Winter said.

They went back to the hotel and to order food. After Kodie took a shower and changed the food was there.

She sat down to start eating.

"I got a question." Winter said and Kodie gestured for her to ask. "When we were arguing a few weeks ago. You mentioned being abused while in foster care."

Seven looked over at Kodie.

"Yeah, I was." She said.

"What happened?" Seven asked. "I mean you don't have to tell us if you don't want to."

"No. It's fine." She said and cleared her throat. "My mom flew me out to an award show and I was pictured with her a lot. When I got back home jealousy got the best of some people so I started getting treated differently. When they figured out how strong I was mentally they got to me physically."

She stood up a bit and lifted her shirt. She showed them her past scars. They weren't as big as when she first got them but they were still there.

"They started beating you?" Winter asked.

"Burning me." She said.

"Is that how you ended up with your parents?" Seven asked.

"Yeah." Kodie said nodding. "I wasn't gonna tell them at first but my mom found out."

"How?" Winter asked.

"I had stopped going to school regularly and she found out. Don't ask me how she knew cause I never even asked. She just popped up on me at the studio and with her sitting in my face I couldn't hide something being wrong."

They nodded.

"Did you ever think it was your fault?" Seven asked.

"No, I never thought it was my fault that I was getting abused. It was more so who can I tell? I should've told someone."

"Why you didn't call your mom?" Winter asked.

"At the time I didn't want to be a burden. She was pregnant and just released an album and my dad was on tour with Kanye." She said. "At that time our bond was super close but I still didn't want to be a burden."

"How'd BB react?" Winter asked.

"No, what about Jay?" Seven added.

"I mean they both were heated which I didn't want to happen but they got me up out of there the next day." Kodie said.
