“Wait for me. Go to the stage door after the show. And Wait for me.” This couldnt be real. But when he put me down and I looked at him. My curls had fallen over my eyes and he brushed them away. Stopping for a moment to rest his hand on my face. His fingers on my neck, his thumb gently moving across my cheekbone. He smiled and spoke again.
“Wait for me”
I smiled and was surprised I was even able to speak. But something about him made me feel so comfortable. Even though I was beside myseld with excitement.
“Forever.” I whispered quietly.
The security guards took all the girls off stage and we were to be set in front of the barricade or the remainder of the show. As soon as I was standing back on the floor I turned around to face Kara. She had a smile on her face that was so huge I dont think it will ever go away. I hugged her tight and when I pulled away she wiped away the single tear that had fallen from my eyes. I laughed and turned back around to finish the show.
Throughout the rest of the concert I kept catching Jay's eye and then looking away feeling my face start to blush. They left without singing Glad You Came, so it was obviously going to be the encore. We chanted Gald You Came for what must have been at least 2 minutes before the guys came back out. The music started and the crowd wents absolutely insane.
Before I knew what was happening, Jay leaned down towards me and the security guard beside me knelt down on one knee to give me a boost. Jay stretched out his hand and I grabbed it. He pulled me up on the stage. It happened to quickly that I got lightheaded and stumbled, almost falling off the edge of the stage. He caught me with one arm and we both started laughing. He mouthed all the words that he wasnt supposed to sing to me with half a smile. We danced and sang, and I dont think I stopped smiling the entire time. The end of the song came and the boys sang..
“The sun goes down. The stars come out. And all the counts, is here and now.”
Jay looked directly into my eyes and grabbed my hand.
“My universe will never be the same. Im glad you came.”
I sang the last words back to him.
“Im glad you came.” I stuck my tongue out at him and he smiled.
“I have to go. See you soon.” he gave my hand a quick squeeze and the guys all ran off stage. I felt silly so I made my way to the edge and jumped off. The crowd was starting to clear out and I found Kara. I grabbed her hand and pulled her over to the side. It wasnt until then that I realized just how nervous I was.
“Kar...... he said... to go to the stage door ... after the show.. I cant breathe. Help. Me.”
“Babe. Come on. Lets get you something to drink real quick.” She smiled and out her arm around me. We headed to the bar that was across the street from the venue and ordered 2 shots. One for her, and one for me.
“To Jay” I said. Holding my shot glass high.
“To destiny” She smiled and we clinked glasses. Downing our shots in seconds. I looked at her and we both laughed. I adjusted my hair and picked up my clutch.
“Im ready.” We locked arms and headed back across the street to find the stage door.
