Jays POV
It was as if everything was moving in slow motion. I heard the girl, saw her pull the trigger and Nicolette fell. It was like a reflex, I caught her in my arms, screaming her name, screaming for help. There was blood everywhere. So much blood. I ripped my shirt off and tried to put pressure on the wound, I had no clue what I was doing, but it looked like something that would have happened on tv. She started to cough and I saw there was blood, she was coughing up blood. No. No. There were people, all around me, frantically calling the police, and some people even taking pictures. What kind of sick person takes a picture of this?! I heard the siren and soon saw the flashing lights. Someone took her from my arms and I felt someone else pull me up off of the ground. I ran along side her to the ambulence. They wouldnt let me in with her, but I was allowed to ride behind them in a police car. I soon as we made it to the Emergancy Room, I bolted out of the car to her side.
“Dont. You. Dare. Die. On. Me.” I tried to stay strong. But I could feel my voice shaking.
“Jay.....” Her voice sounded soft, as if she was drifting.
I started to cry, there was no use trying to stop it. I couldnt lose her. I just couldnt. I felt a hand on my chest, stopping me.
“You cant come through here.”
I leaned against the nearest wall and sank to the floor. I heard the girls words in my head over and over again. “Jay is mine you bitch.” It meant one thing. It meant that this was my fault. This, was all my fault.
Tom's POV
The guys and I decided to head back to the hotel. I didnt see Jay and Nicolette anywhere, and I guessed that they were already back there.
We left the club and soon I noticed a crowd of people near a small park. There were also 5 cop cars and the police were putting up caution tape.
“I wonder what happened..” Nath said. Max ran over to one of the policemen and I saw his face drop. He slowly walked back over to us.
“Some girl got shot.”
“Shit.” I couldnt explain it. But I got a bad feeling. My phone rang and I looked at the caller ID. Jay. Thats odd. I figured he would be a bit busy... I answered the phone and put it on speaker so the boys could hear. All we heard was sobs. I looked around at them and everyones faces were worried.
“Mate. Slow down. We cant understand you.” This was not a good sign.
“Nic.... Shot” Was all we could understand. But in an instant, it was as if we were all completely sober.
“Jay. Where are you?” Seev said slowly, you could hear the concern in his voice.
“Hospital..” It sounded like the phone dropped and we lost him. I ran to the nearest cop and frantically asked where they took the girl, and that we were friends. I looked back at the boys and they already had a taxi waiting. I sprinted to the cab and we raced to the hospital.
I was the first one out of the car and I ran into the ER, scanning the room. I saw his legs from behind a chair and called the boys over. He was slumped over, shirtless, covered in blood, and sobbing. His phone was a few feet away from him on the ground. With Sivas help, I picked him up and put him into a chair. Max and Nath went to go get some coffee, tea, and something to eat for all of us. After awhile, I noticed Siva was talking to an olderman in a white coat, must be the doctor. He was just nodding his head, with that same worried look on his face.
“Jay..He wants to talk to you.” Jay slowly lifted his face and looked at the man.
“James. Hi. Im Dr. Williams. Now, the bullet punctured Nicolette's lung. She's in surgury right now, and so far its looking good, but there is always a chance with wounds like hers, and we just dont have a definite answer for you right now. Sit tight, and you might want to call her family, just in case. Im sorry.”
Jay didnt say anything. He just rung his hands together, closed his eyes, and let his head drop again. It was going to be a long night.
