No one made a sound. Then leave it to Tom to break the awkward silence. He came up and put his arms around me.
“Hey babe. Nice to see you again.”
“Its good to see you too Thomas.” I laughed thankful that he was there.
The other guys tried to start up conversations with the fans. But they all just kept looking at me. Did I have something on my face? Or was it possible that I had grown an extra set of arms, or an extra head or something like that..?! But no.. I was just with Jay. Or was I? Im not exactly sure what was going on.. All I knew was that I was happy. And I felt whole again.
The room was still quiet.. Jay kissed my forehead and left me with Tom. I saw him walk up to a group of girls whose jaws were literally on the floor. He started talking to them and slowly their expressions went from awestuck and confused to looking like they had just watched the most romantic movie ever. We're talking even more romantic than The Notebook..
“So. Pretty big gesture there eh?” Tom laughed and nodded toward Jay.
“To be honest I didnt even know what I was going to do until right before.. Im not much of a planner. I like to wing it.” I smiled. Part of me still couldnt believe that I had kissed him.
“Well. Im glad you did it. Jay has been moping for weeks! And you've definitely cheered him up.”
“Im in a pretty good mood myself.”
It was so easy to talk to him. Almost as if we had been friends for years, as opposed to the 12 hours we had actually known each other.
Kara came up and I introduced her to Tom. And I zoned out, not paying attention to their conversation. I glanced around and noticed that things had finally gone back to normal. Nath and Seev were talking to a group of fans and I saw Max out of the corner of my eye, he was ordering a drink at the bar. Jay was walking back towards us.
“Hey. Can I talk to you?” Jay still had a huge grin on his face, and Tom winked at me. We walked over the a row of seats and sat down.
“Whats going on?” I asked.
“Come with me.”
“Wait. What?!” Now this, THIS definitely wasnt real.
“To Chicago. We're there for the next 2 days. And well, Im not ready to be away from you again.” Of course I wanted to jump up and down. And scream yes. But I held it together.
“But Jay, your flight leaves so soon. And Ive only got what im wearing.” I wanted to play it cool.
“We can go shopping when we get there.” He answered. But his smile started to fade.
“But...I..”
“Please? Its 2 days..” He looked at me with those eyes... And I couldnt have said no even if I wanted to.
“What the hell. Yes. Yes of course!”
“Really?!” His face lit up and I stuck my tongue out at him.
“Really.”
He picked me up and spun me around in a circle.
Before I knew it I had said goodbye to Kara. After brief shrieks of excitement in the bathroom before we left. And I was off. To Chicago. With The Wanted. Holy shit.
