Touka awoke in the arms of shitty Nishiki while he along with everyone else walked back to Anteiku. Kaneki looked so different to her. So strong. So broken. She may have gotten him back but she felt that it was far too late.
Kaneki's mind was racing laps like a racecar. He'd taken down Yamori so now he needed to focus on the other Aogiri executives. Tatara the leader. The mysterious Noro. Some girl he'd heard about called Eto. And finally Ayato. He'd crush them all.
He couldn't tell but everyone was picking up on his bloodlust and the murderous intent in his one visible eye.
Tsukiyama seemed visibly worried while Nishiki just seemed annoyed. Touka didn't know how to feel and Uta and Yomo just remained indifferent.
Boy this was not going to be fun.
Three Months Later
Kaneki sat behind the desk in the library in Tsukiyama's home while Uta, Yomo, Nishiki, and Tsukiyama all stared at him like he was crazy.
"It's literally suicide."
"Even I have to agree with Nishio my friend."
"Certain things just can't be done Ken."
"I'm all for it."
"What the hell Uta?!"
"What? Sounds like fun and I'm not doing anything."
"Death sounds like fun?"
"Well no death sounds kinky, this plan sounds fun."
"What the f-"
"Enough. I wouldn't have proposed this to any of you had I not thought we would win."
Kaneki had asked them all to come here so he could propose his plan to dismantle Aogiri's Tree. He knew that these were the best people to have on his team so that's why he'd asked them but it seemed only one was up for it. Shit.
Yomo spoke first, "Right now Aogiri is in hiding so we wouldn't even be able to find him. We need to focus on something more important than a grudge."
"Like?"
"The Doves have been frequenting the area more after the whole battle thing with Aogiri. Apparently the one you let live told the others about you and they're now searching for the 'Eye Patch' ghoul."
"For me?"
"Apparently the Dove you fought was incredibly strong and the partner of an extremely skilled senior investigator. Breaking his weapon made you immediately receive an S rating. Nice job by the way."
"So what do we do?"
Now it was Nishiki's turn to speak but this time he threw an envelope at Kaneki before doing so.
"Check it out."
Kaneki opened it up and scanned over the words and photos with an intense look.
"Is this real?"
"Yeah. It seems that Doctor Kanou your own personal Doctor Frankenstein, didn't do this by a mistake. Apparently he used to work for the CCG but had his employment terminated when he was found to be experimenting on ghouls and humans alike. Apparently he managed to evade capture and had been living under the radar using an alias in the hospital he did this to you in. This was no mistake Ken he did this to you on purpose but the real question is, why and what for?"
Kaneki's grip tightened around the pages then immediately relaxed as he placed them back in their envelope and clasped his hands together.
"Why don't we go find out?"
"Thought you might say that, and the hospital is in a different ward so less Dove activity. I'm in."
"Thanks Nishio. Yomo? Uta? Tsukiyama?"
"I told you I was already in."
"Of course my friend. I'd be happy to be your sword."
"You're really going through with this huh? Heh, fine but you better not go off and die."
Kaneki stood up and grabbed his mask before placing it on his face once more. "I won't die, I have too much to live for."
They made their move later on that night and were currently on a rooftop above the hospital. They could see the entrance, the side door, and the parking lot so they could see whenever he tried to leave.
Finally he emerged from the front doors after saying goodnight to everyone and left with a smile on his face and some pep in his step.
Kaneki's kakugan activated as he jumped off the roof and entered free fall, Kanou in his sight the entire time.
The others got into their positions to surround him so he couldn't escape or even think of running but what they didn't notice was that they weren't alone.
Kaneki was immediately swatted away and ended up and slamming down on the hood of someone else's car while the others easily blocked their attackers.
Kaneki and his team came face to face with ghouls they'd never seen before along with very pissed off looking Ayato.
"Long time no see 'Eye Patch', gotta say your new look really suits the whole Frankenstein's monster thing ya got going on."
"Ayato...do I need to break the other 103 bones in your body?"
"I admit, that was a humiliating defeat but this time will be different because you won't be fighting me. Shachi you see this waste of a life with white hair, he's the one who has Rize's kakuhou."
An extremely muscular ghoul with a long beard and hair to match stepped forward and growled, "Oh really..."
"Easy big fella, I'm not Rize so you have no issues with me. Don't throw your life away."
"Heh cocky little brat, Ayato was right about that condescending tone of yours too."
"Stay out of our way."
"No I don't think I will, I want to see the strength of the one who bears the kagune of my departed daughter."
Kaneki's eye widened with shock. Daughter, did he just say daughter? This was Rize's dad?! Fuck!!
"It's bad enough I have to deal with your copies but now I have to crush you."
"Copies?"
At that moment, two females wearing identical outfits; one white, one black; stepped forward and removed their masks. One had white hair and kakugan in her right eye while the other had black hair and a kakugan in her left eye.
"Papa said you'd be strong."
"But we didn't expect you to be this strong."
What the hell was going on, why the hell did he feel like he'd met them before? Why did they smell so familiar? Like..like Rize?
Their kagune emerged from their backs and aimed themselves at him. But their kagune was just like his. Like hers. They had Rize's kagune just like him, just some more of Kanou's lab rats.
Kaneki didn't have time to be shocked as his own kagune emerged as he prepared to attack.
"You're dead..."
