Maul

Kaneki flew towards the Dove with the intent to kill but found his attack thwarted by his quinque.

"Sorry about this kid but you've gotta die!!"

In a swift motion he slashed Kaneki across the right side of his abdomen with his weapon and watched as Kaneki fell to the ground.

"One thousand...minus seven...nine hundred ninety three...did you know?"

"You can still talk?"

Kaneki staggered to his feet with his breath ragged and insanity visible in the eye of his mask.

"Centipede in...in my ear...IT HURT!!!!"

Kaneki's kagune sprang to life and slammed themselves into the Dove's cleaver and snapped it in two like a small twig.

"Son of a bitch, just how strong is this guy?"

The Dove struggled to get up but found it hard to do so since his armor seemed to be resisting him.

While Kaneki dealt with him, Kurona and Nashiro were struggling against Juuzou.

Juuzou had focused all of his attention on Kurona since he'd put her at a disadvantage by taking her eye out and was now currently dodging her futile attempts to fend him off.

Nashiro tried to help her sister by trying to deflect some of his knives with her kagune but found it impossible since Juuzou was so skilled.

Kurona slashed at him one final time and missed, making it easy for him to get close and slash her across her stomach.

She cried out as she gasped and fell to her knees, he'd won. He'd won and he was going to kill her.

She accepted her fate and closed her one remaining good eye as she listened to him pick up his scythe and approach her. At least her sister could get away.

He twirled his weapon and brought it down, making it rain blood all over the floor and walls. But she felt no pain.

"Sis...ter..."

Kurona opened her eye and turned to see Nashiro standing in front of her leaking blood out of a gaping chest wound. She'd taken the blow for her.

"Well that was unexpected but then again it's totally something a twin would do."

Kurona was at a loss for words as her sister fell into her arms barely breathing.

"Why did you do that? You could've gotten away.."

"Without you..there's nowhere...to go.."

Kurona couldn't argue with her since she felt the same way plus she looked like she didn't have much time left. Her wound was too deep and it was healing slower than usual.

"Don't worry about it Kuro, soon you'll both be attending an all you can eat human buffet in the sky."

Juuzou slashed at them again but this time she was ready and jumped above his blade with her sister in her arms and ran away.

"Hold on Nashiro, I'll make sure you don't die!"

"..."

"Nashiro?!"

"..."

"NASHIRO!!"

She kept calling her name even when she stopped running and hid.

She knew that when she stopped calling her name she'd have to accept that her sister...was gone.

"Please...don't leave me alone.."

As she cradled her sister's body, her kagune emerged and engulfed them both in a cocoon.

Tsukiyama and Banjou's team were lost in the maze that was Kanou's laboratory.

They'd been trying to find Kaneki so they could leave but their fearless leader was nowhere to be found and honestly, they were starting to worry.

"You better not be dead Kaneki. I'll never forgive you and neither will Hinami."

Kaneki was engaged in fierce combat with his enemy who was still able to fight thanks to sheer willpower.

Kaneki's centipede kagune then disappeared as he stood before his enemy, cackling like a mad man.

"I've fought some insane ghouls before but you take first place. However, I don't plan on dying yet so bring it!"

The Dove got into a fighting position but found himself powerless as Kaneki cracked his index finger and appeared behind him.

Before the older man could react, Kaneki's normal kagune emerged and slashed through the armor, giving the man a deep cut across his abdomen before sending him flying.

He collided with a wall and hit the floor unconscious, becoming completely vulnerable to an unstable Kaneki.

"SNACK TIME!!!"

Kaneki ran over to the man's body and began ripping off and eating pieces of his armor frantically, never once going for the flesh.

"Kaneki..."

Kaneki turned and saw his team standing there with fear in their eyes.

Banjou ran over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder despite Tsukiyama's warning.

"Ken, we have to get out of here. Come on, I'll help you u-ugh..."

Kaneki had thrust his hand directly through Banjou's stomach without even thinking twice and laughed as his friend coughed up blood.

Tsukiyama ordered his teammates to stand down as he ran towards the scene and activated his kagune.

Kaneki's own kagune came out whipped around wildly only to stop when four tails impaled him from the back.

Kurona stood there with much longer, lighter hair and two kakugan. Her kagune had been the one to impale Kaneki to stop his rampage.

As he lost consciousness and fell to the floor, Tsukiyama caught him and watched as she picked up Ayato.

"Thank you..."

"Don't thank me. Just get him out of here. We'll need him for what's to come."

Without another word, she made her exit with Ayato and left them all there looking dumbfounded.

They escaped eventually and made their way back to base where Hinami and Touka were waiting for them. Touka was not happy when she saw him.

"What the hell happened?!"

"He just went crazy and attacked dear Banjou. Honestly if it wasn't for that one eyed girl, we wouldn't be here right now. He's gotten so much stronger."

"..."

"Trust me Kirishima, he's going to be fine. Kaneki's way too stubborn to just lay down and die like that."

She knew he was right but it still didn't make her feel any better.

"Come back to me Ken.."
