Midnight couldn't have come much later. You had taken a short nap, but that did not quench your body's need for sleep for very long before you felt drowsy once again. It irked you how often you woke up more tired from a nap than when you first started it. But now you were making your way silently through the halls, down the corridors to the brig.
The quiet hissing of the doors opening caused you to wince and glance behind yourself. You didn't want to run into anyone at this time. You took a glance inside the brig, ignoring the soft light from the inside of the holding cells momentarily as you glanced around for anyone. No one was present. To be honest, Kirk had been acting either very uptight, or completely laid back lately. He was acting a tad bipolar, there. Maybe he was having a good day? No, don't think about that, that automatically reminded you of that kiss. You shuddered involuntarily, walking up to the holding cell in the darkened room.
"I've been waiting..." A deep voice shuddered through the walls, causing you to shiver. You smiled and shook your head as you came up to the glass, the dim lighting casting shadows across the faces of both Khan and yourself. Always so dramatic, trying to get to you in ways only he knew could. As you peered inside the glass cell, he was facing the rear of the prison, his back towards you. As you opened your mouth to speak, Khan turned around and stalked up to the glass ferociously, his hands slamming against the glass.
"Get in here now." He rumbled, the sound coming from the back of his throat as you raised an eyebrow cautiously, sliding the metal contraption over and swiping it open. Apparently this was too slow for Khan as he snatched you up, tugging you inside with a yelp.
"Khan-! What are you doing!?" You winced, his grip on your arm tightening. You tried to push his hand off, but he had a different plan. He pressed you against the wall, and you whimpered as your head nearly split with the rough contact. He was breathing down your neck, his hot breath tickling your skin.
Khan leant down to your ear, whispering menacingly,"Sorry, darling. I just couldn't wait for you any longer..." You blushed furiously, shifting awkwardly, sandwiched between Khan's firm chest, and the wall. How does the saying go? Between a rock and a hard place? From what you've seen Khan demonstrate so far, you could guess as to which you'd label him as.
You began to speak. "Khan, I-" His head shifted down and he was trailing kiss after kiss along your jaw, rendering you speechless. His hands snaked around your waist, tugging you closer to him as he whispered breathless sweet nothing's in your ear that you couldn't quite decipher.
"Khan..." You managed to breathe out, pressing your hands against his chest, pushing him away slowly. You couldn't go too far, and you knew that if you stayed in this cell too long, you'd soon succumb to life's temptations. You needed to stop while you still had all your clothing on. Khan loosened up at the contact on his chest, understanding your airy plea. He exhaled deeply, and you swallowed, wrapping your arms around his neck. You kissed him gently and pulled away, your eyes still closed. He pressed his forehead to yours, running a hand through your hair.
"Apologies..." He murmured, brushing the back of his hand along your cheek softly, causing you to open your eyes, slightly in confusion.
"I don't understan-"
"Apologies for acting so rashly, both for my previous actions of the week and the actions I've done so early in the day today. I never mean to hurt you..." He whispered, framing your face with his hands, kissing you on the cheek, his lips lingering ever so slightly. You reach up and clasp your hands with his, smiling.
"I never did tell you how 'breathtaking' you were." You teased, laughing lightly. Khan chuckled, his voice humming and reverberating around the room.
"Please, do tell..." He murmured, smiling slightly down at you. You grinned, tapping his nose lightly and slipping out of the cell, quickly closing the hole.
"I'll save that for later." You teased, grinning as Khan looked thoroughly ticked, raising an eyebrow at you.
"Bye!" You waved and jogged down the halls, smiling like a mad man at ungodly hours of night. You suddenly caught sight of Chekov, who you didn't even know had a night shift despite his tendency to always be available during the day, and stopped dead in your tracks. You stalked over to him, tugging him aside from flirting with the very pretty looking girl he was talking to. She was a Lieutenant Commander that worked down in engineering, and was honestly out of his league. Chekov looked stunned as you glared at him, ready to spit venom. Suddenly your face softened.
"Hi, Chekov. I heard from a friend that you reminded the Captain of some funny little videos! I just wanted to let you know that you should probably scan them before you just display someone's secrets to the Captain. Alright?" You said sweetly, brushing past a very confused and very dazed Russian Ensign. You walked up to the bridge, murmuring curses under your breath. You met the door halfway, stopping just barely before entering.
"Permission to enter the bridge?" You asked, and Kirk glanced behind himself, nodding.
The Captain stood. "Permission granted, Lieutenant. You're actually the person I've been wanting to see, because-"
"Same." You snapped, crossing your arms. He was ridiculous, utterly ridiculous and was just plain annoying and-
"Khan's only staying aboard this ship for today. After today, we'll be contacting StarFleet HQ and telling them we have the prisoner in custody, it took longer than expected to fetch him, and there was a malfunction with the torpedoes, forcing us to use a landing party while we fixed the torpedoes. No loopholes." Kirk winked, grinning, and you felt your stomach drop. No. Khan was going to be killed if he was in the hands of StarFleet, of Admiral Marcus-
"No persuasion. We already have the message on automatic setting so it's going off at eight in the morning tomorrow. Your little boyfriend will be put on lockdown once again, and you won't be able to see him. Speaking of which, lockdown begins now, so head to your room. Your services in guarding the prisoner are over." Kirk smiled, but you felt tears brimming your eyes as you backed up, gripping the wall.
"You knew you would be contacting StarFleet today, that's why you allowed me to guard him? So you could give me what I want then rip it away from me again?" You shouted, earning stares from many of the bridge crew members. You felt a hand on your shoulder and yelped, looking over. It was Spock.
"Lieutenant, I highly recommend that you return to your specified room. There is nothing to do now, the Captain will not be swayed in his decision, and the message sending sequence is password protected. Even I could not decipher it, the Captain is very good at creating codes. It is one of the few things he is good at." Kirk rolled his eyes at that last statement.
"Alright. Spock, I don't want her back in her room now. Put her in the med bay, post two Commanders on her, I don't care if they're working, she's sneaky. Escort her there, please." Kirk stated, sitting down at his chair. He glanced back and smiled.
"That's an order."You nearly spat at Kirk as Spock led you down the halls, your heart crushed and tears already spilling. You didn't even get to say goodbye. Spock stopped walking and you glanced up, realizing where you were. The brig. You grinned, glancing up at Spock who was just glancing down at you from the corner of his eye.
"The Captain is clouded by his feelings for you. His decisions are irrational, and I do not think they are correct. You may say your last goodbyes. However, Khan is a criminal-"
"You can stop there, it was sweet up until the 'however'. Thank you." You laughed lightly, grinning. You hugged Spock tightly, the hug not reciprocated as he patted your back awkwardly, but it was good enough. You pulled away, grinning at him as you ran over to the holding cell, and you nearly screamed.
It was empty.
