How do I say Sorry?

"Raven! Please do not ignore me"

Raven just looked at her. She didn't want to talk to the gleeful alien next to her on the bed, but Starfire had been persistent. Raven would rather be in her room, meditating with a cup of herbal tea next to her.  Starfire hovered just above the bed in her excitement. A wide smile made her look even more radiant than usual. Raven wished she shared that radiance.

"Will you meet that boy again? Or maybe you will, as you call it, 'go out' with Beast boy?" She clapped her hands happily and squealed, making Raven wince. Her brain was buzzing enough with the leftover confusion from earlier. Her hand still felt warm from when Beast Boy's hand had gripped it, surprisingly soft. Raven could tell that she would need to do some serious relaxation to settle her emotions or she would have a major migraine to deal with.

Raven pulled out of her thoughts to watch as Starfire floated around her room, chattering about possible date ideas for Raven and Pheonix or for Raven and Beast Boy. Raven knew that Starfire liked the idea of them being together, but frankly, Raven hadn't known she was this passionate- really, it was ridiculous.

"YOu could go to the river at twilight and float candles! Or share a romantic dinner here-"

Starfire's ideas were cut off from the sound of someone knocking on her door. She floated back to the ground and walked to the door, a small bounce in her step. At the door, to Raven's displeasure, was Beast Boy.

As soon as she saw the adorably short figure, she blushed from her toes to the roots of her purple hair. He was just as red as she was (Adorably), and he stared at her with a mixed expression of happiness and anguish. She quickly flicked her eyes down to Starfire's fluffy pink carpet. Starfire almost couldn't contain her joy.

"Beast Boy! I'm glad you are here!"

"I- uh. Hey Starfire um. I'll just be uh, leaving" He scratched his head awkwardly, casting his eyes down. Raven stood up, pulling her purple hood over her facee. If she stayed in this room for a moment longer, she would just die.

"No need, I'm going" She levitated past Starfire and around Beast Boy, very carefully avoiding touching him. Wishing she could teleport at will, Raven floated down the hallway as quickly as she could.

Beast Boy watched her go, wishing he knew how to say sorry. Or even how to tell her just how beautiful he thought she was.

"She is feeling conflicted about that cute human boy" Starfire told him, stumbling over her words curiously. Beast Boy looked at her disparingly.

"Is he really that cute?" He asked. Starfire nodded hurridly. "Oh"

"What is it you wanted to see me for, Beast Boy?"

Beast Boy shrugged, his face downcast. Quickly, he morphed into a graceful owl, flying in the air in front of her. He skreeched in reply and quickly flew down the hallway in a flurry of feathers. Starfire watched him leave, shaking her head.

She wished she knew the right words to tell him that she was there for him, even for a situation that she didn't understand completely like this one.
