5. The light of my life

•Those were the times when winter arrived,
When the trees were bare and no life survived;
And my tears flowed as I let myself cry,
But now you've come to light up my sky.

His eyes were like forest pools, his charm was like the stars,
But his blows were so strong that they left permanent scars.
He tore down my walls and happily walked over the bricks,
I shattered like glass and his memories pricked.

Just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore,
Just when I'd bolted my very last door,
Just when my waves had started retreating from the shore,
You entered; transforming the squeak of my heart into a roar.

Life's the same with its highs and lows,
But now I can survive everything, I know,
I can survive the stormy seas and the Monday morning blues,
Because every mountain seems little when I'm thinking of you. •
