21. Departure

Like galaxies which had lost their way,
And stars which silently fell,
I knew I'd embarked on a path,
Which had untold stories to tell.

But my exhausted heart,
Asked morbidly with a sigh,
Why didn't I turn,
To say those unsaid goodbyes?

Oh, I said to my heart,
There is nothing that I find,
In pressing the clocks,
To watch memories unwind.

Because very rarely have I seen,
People who know,
Just how much you burnt,
To provide them warmth against the snow.

So I left,
To extinguish all flames,
Which once burnt inside me,
And had only false promises to claim.
