After wandering around for over an hour, Kyler was wondering if he still knew the way to Tristan's tree, Maybe he was disoriented having started at Pax's cottage instead of his own house?
Looking around and taking note of the same tree he passed twenty minutes ago, his anxiety started picking up as he realised how lost he could be.
Twigs snapping from behind cause Kyler to spin around knowing he definitely didn't break them, but there's nothing there except more sticks. More snapping and heavy footsteps from behind again, this time Kyler turns and ends up face to face with the biggest pair of fangs he'd ever seen, hanging down from an evil looking grin.
A gasp escaped his lips as he stumbled backwards, falling into the reach of another grin. Jolting away to find himself encompassed by a small group, with one question at his forefront, why aren't they burning? Tristan had told him some years ago that Vampires burn in sunlight and Tristan wouldn't lie to him.
Five Vampires surrounding one human felt a little overkill to Kyler, he knew it wouldn't even take one of them to easily over power him, yet he was trapped between two who looked like it had been a while since their last meal.
Kyler could tell they knew his heart rate had picked up, wishing everyone was raised with the rule to not play with your food. What were they doing here?
The fear was so over coming Kyler almost didn't notice the growling start as six Wolves emerged from the surrounding trees. The all white Wolves were noted as anything but unnatural but the three with bright and bold coloured markings gave Kyler at least some comfort that he may not die at the fangs of Vampires today.
One of the Wolves, Kyler guessed he was the leader, had these blood red markings all over his face and down his back and legs. He was almost entirely red, Ky had never seen one covered that much before, if he got out of this alive he made a note to ask Pax about him later.
There was a silence for a moment as both sides waited for the other to make a first move. The Red Wolf didn't hesitate to howl causing a chain reaction in the Wolves at his back, they were ready for the fight. The fight that Kyler was dead in the centre of.
Pax's ears pricked up at the loud howl that was unmistakably Anther coming from the woods. Pax wasn't completely familiar with Anther himself but his family had been close with his wife Twyla and his daughter Willow. Pax froze for a second to comprehend what was being spread through the pack.
Reading their minds, a simple order was being spread ''destroy the Vampires, take the human for questioning.'' Pax's head filled with questions, Vampires in broad daylight? And what human?
Anthers howl was to signal that he might need back up, Pax may be a lone wolf but he could certainly take care of himself, Anther knows this as he quite often asks Pax for assistance. He wasn't exactly a part of Anthers pack, but he was always there if he was needed.
Rushing outside, changing into Wolf form and running as fast as Pax's legs could carry him through the forest, to get to Anthers pack. Needing to see what this Vampire thing is and who the human is. Only one thought occurred, please don't let it be Kyler!
Getting closer, Pax decides it's smarter to show up out of Wolf form so as to not look threatening and to give him more stealth. Changing behind some trees and walking slowly towards, what looks like the beginning of a fight. Instincts almost get the better of him, telling him to run, this isn't Pax's fight. It only takes a second of doubts for Pax to spy what he's been fearing, Kyler right in the middle of both Vamp and Wolf.

Snarling alerted Tristan to an outside conundrum, sounding semi close by, intrigue guides him to the window where his mind floods with thoughts of Solar Vampires. Shaking his head to clear his it, knowing that Solar's have been dead for decades.
Craning his neck to avoid the sun beam, his eyes rest on the bold red markings of an alpha Wolf, Tristan was familiar with that Wolfs pack but not first hand. He'd seen them around. Following the eye line of the Wolf was what covered Tristan's face with shock, the first Solar Vampire he had ever seen.
The Wolves seem to have shown up just in time, though Tristan had spotted someone else skulking in the shadows, maybe he was the best shot to help Kyler.
Tristan tried to get in this strangers mind, after the third attempt he realised it was useless as this guy must be a Wolf, but why was he not in Wolf form? Ignoring his instincts to try anything other than this random guy, Tristan picked up a rock through his window and willed it to hit the roaming Wolf, gently as not to hurt him but with enough might that he'll notice it.
The strange Wolf turns to his left, raising his arm to the back of his head to examine what just happened, spying the stone on the ground, his face lifts to see where it was thrown from. It only took a moment to notice the opening in the ground where a glass pane lay half open with a figure inside, waving him over.
Tristan was already disagreeing with his own plan, knowing that the Wolf would have to come inside in order to stay hidden from the group which remain frozen, both sides waiting for the other to make a move.
But Tristan knew it was the only way to help his friend, his best friend. He had to do something and this was the only way.
Tristan watched as the Wolf slyly ducked behind trees and plants to get to his home, where he slid to the doorway to pull it open, no sooner then it was open, the Wolf was inside and pushing it closed, silently, behind him.
Face to face they stood for a moment before Tristan's eyes watered and he had to cover his nose from the repulsively overpowering dog smell that was swirling throughout his home.
Trying to get his thoughts on anything other than the smell that would now hibernate in his home for months, remembering the danger Kyler was in managed to snap his head back into action long enough to come up with a plan.
