Tristan woke with a jolt, eyes instantly wide. He was slow to get up, peering out the window revealed the sun setting, which was perfect for that of a Vampire. He sat back down on his bed, trying to collect his thoughts and expel the memories that kept sneaking into his dreams, all he wanted was to forget, to move on.
Once his dizzy spell had faded, he got dressed and left when the sun had set enough. Floating to his heights in the trees was the best place to think, to be alone.
Tristan's home was located in a hollow tree trunk, mostly underground, with a window that stuck just above ground for easy time distinction. It wasn't easy to find unless you knew it was there.
Thoughts of Kyler filled Tristan's head, he had become a lot more worried about him since he started dating that Werewolf. Tristan wouldn't have even known about the Werewolf if he hadn't seen them together, it wasn't like Kyler to keep secrets from him.
He thought about the last time he saw Kyler, it had been a while. Maybe he should visit him, make sure he's okay.
All thoughts drained from Tristan's head as a message came fluttering in. ''Kill the blue Wolf.'' A deep raspy whisper, left him chilled to the core, sending a shiver down his spine. Another thought came to mind, Tristan didn't recognise the voice, nor could he think of anyone who would have sent it.
Tristan had seen the 'blue Wolf' around but he hadn't officially met him, not that he wanted too. Vampires and Werewolves all stayed away from each other, the old war had left them on bad terms for centuries, many Wolves and Vamps alike had been lost to the war. Though both sides had almost truced in a way the last few decades, they just ignored each other for the most part now a days.
He spent the rest of the night trying to figure out who would have motives to kill a Wolf at this point in time, it didn't make sense. Why was he being ordered to do it? What had he done to justify this task?
The moon went overhead at a normal rate yet it felt as though Tristan's thoughts had scrambled his head so much he couldn't tell what day it was. The sun was about to rise and he wasn't about to turn to ash today.
Tristan sunk back to his tree house depths and decided to sleep, although not necessary for Vampires to sleep, it helped pass the time while being stuck hiding from the sun all day.
Laying his head on his pillow, Tristan's only thoughts aside from the blue Wolf were the fears of having the awful nightmares again.
Pax's parents often went over the top by his standards, though from their perspective it was what was best for Pax. All they cared about in this world was their cub.
Kyler definitely got them riled up but they understood, or at least they were trying to, which is more than they could say for Kys parents.
The boys told the old Wolves how long they had been dating, noticing how their eyes went a little bit wider at the details, both the how long and the definitive term 'dating'.
Pax explained Kyler's parents, their situation and how trustworthy he is, not knowing if they'd believe it based on just his words. They were in love, isn't that all that should matter?
''How do we know we can trust this human?'' Pax's mom throws out on the table, making his dad sit a little straighter, furrowing his eyebrows in agreement with her and wanting some proof of this boyfriends loyalty.
''Well, he's kept the secret this long, hasn't he? We've been together 2 fucking years, what more do you want?!'' Only realising after he said it that he was yelling, and his mother definitely wasn't too happy about the swearing either.
