Rose woke up to her alarm clock beeping. The sound was dreadful, she turned it off, and began to get her bearings straight. The last thing she remembered was falling asleep in the cave, how did she get to her bed?
She signed and began to get ready for the day. She got up took a shower, fixed her hair and makeup. As she was finishing up, there was that all to familiar knock on her door.
"Come in!" yelled Rose.
"Good morning!" said Neil.
"Hey, how did I get to my room last night, I don't remember coming back." she explained.
Neil looked to the ground. "I kinda of carried you back, and kinda umm... took off the top layer of your dress. I hope you are not mad, there's like 50 layers of dress!" he defended. "Don't worry I didn't see anything."
Rose laughed, " I'm not mad! In fact it was very sweet of you to carry me all the way back from the cave, and don't worry about that I'm not ashamed of my body!"
Neil was relieved, he was so worried she would be upset with him. They then hurried off to breakfast.
The first classes of the day went by very slowly. The worst by far was Latin. Neil took notice of how Rose acted in this class compared to the others. She tended to slouch more and never looked at the teacher, who seemed to always be staring at her. She was also very jumpy. When he whispered to her to ask her a question, she cringed as if someone was going to hit her. He knew that whatever was bothering Rose had to do with this class. He decided not to bring it up, he didn't want her to feel uncomfortable. Finally it was English class, and the second day of lesson was just as interesting as the first. They began by reading the intro to poetry. Mr.Keating then cut Neil off half way through his reading.
"Rip it out! Rip it all out!" Exclaimed Mr.Keating. The class stared at him with wide eyes. This was not the proper behavior they were taught. "Come on! It's not the Bible, you're not going to hell for this!" he yelled.
Charlie was the first to do as instructed, but once he started everyone followed. Once everyone was done Mr. Keating explained his reasoning.
" One might wonder why we study such things if they are destined to being a doctor or lawyer and the truth is. We don't read poetry because it's cute, we read it to survive. You see math, and politics might be our jobs but, poetry and art is why we live!"
Rose was amazed by this she never thought of that before!
Before she knew it the class was over and it was time for evening activities and studies. She was going to meet in the common room to join Neil's study group. When she arrived there, someone was missing."Where's Knox?" Asked Rose.
"His father called for him to eat dinner at the Danbarry's house."
stated Charlie unamused."Ohhhh got it" she replied.
She then sat down between Charlie and Neil.
"Okay, what do you need help with?" questioned Neil.
Rose smiled, " Math and Science."
"Me too! Meeks will help us!" He said. We sat there working on our loads of homework until Knox came back.
"How was dinner?" Smirked Charlie.
" It was awful, I met the most beautiful girl..." he stared off awestruck.
Rose obnoxiously coughed.
Knox look at her, "That's besides you!" He joked.
" Anyways, it will never work out, she's already with this jerk!" He cried in frustration.
"It's okay, all the good ones go for jerks." Replied Meeks.
"Hey, I do not go for crap boys!" Defended Rose, "And frankly the only men I need in my life are Ben and Jerry"
"Damn Girl you are a savage!" Laughed Charlie.
" Well I have to be in a school full of horny boys" said Rose. Neil stared at her, wow she was great!
