lady with the blue sockswith red lips and a yellow top
lights a cigar away
with tears drifting around the hallway
smoke was released from her lips
as it swirls around the night
her eyes narrowed at the dark eclipselike an owl, hiding in the night
she watches the kids run with love
children who were as pure as a dove
a tear fell from her eye crawling unto her lips
'oh how I wish I could be like this'
oh how numb she was
the lady with the blue socks
when sickness captures her like a wasp
when the doctor said that she could never walk
and there she was
holding her blue socks
keeping them warm
as warm like her feet when she wore those socks
